Whats your FIRST plan??

hey congrats! great choice in color, and i love the wheels! any plans/mods?
Thanks! Well I already have some things in the mail: Z Tube w/ popcharger (things gonna roar), tein H-techs, and jdm oem frosted side markers... then I'll tint it and maybe look into an aftermarket grille (something like silviaparts or gialla)
Sick dude.

I didn't know you were looking to get a new ride... First plans are^^^... Well I really like the new "sport" front bumpers that started coming with the Premium '06's so the body will mostly stay stock.

nice whip. if i were you i wouldn't touch it, but to each his own. i'd like for them to come out with the g35X in the coupe and me be able to afford it:mrgreen:. that would be my dream daily driver.
AWD would definitely rock... But RWD is so much fun!(Not in the snow though, im in trouble in that department)

Kuz,
Be careful, its a sweet car, but from what I hear, kids from doylestown have problems with crashing and totaling expensive white cars when they are drunk, right forest?
welcome to the VQ family, but did you really need that many photos? jesus.

Love that car! :( :o
The JWT wont make too much differnce man...but it looks nice when u pop the hood...but u cant hear it that much. Also, i LOVE the 06 headlights...the projectors look very nice.
Great pick.
I only have one bit of advice for you (i have owned 2 G35's)
Unless your gonna spend $10,000+ on a turbo kit, DONT waste your money and time playing around with bolt-ons. The VQ wont respond all that well (maybe get u like 20hp) to mods like intake, headers, exhaust, plenum, etc.
Instead, spend your money on the suspension, wheels, and enhancing the cars #1 attribute- ITS LOOKS!
Ok, my rant is done...thats just my $.02
Enjoy your new G :afro:

Hahaha... Yeah I heard about that on Friday night. Whos car was it again? I just heard he crashed a brand new white evo that wasn't his... haha

With the popcharger, I was pretty much going for a deeper sound. I know you aren't going to feel 5hp in that car. Not really going to try making it faster, because like you said, the VQ doesn't respond well to mods. I'm happy with the way it is. Thanks for the advice though...

I just put the Injen CAI on my Coupe. I love how it sounds. And weird enough, I can actually feel a difference in performance. It ripped through all of first gear sending the ass out sideways. Maybe it just needed some air. LOL. Just now ordering some springs and test pipes.
Nice upgrade for sure. I enjoy mine so far. Especially how nice and QUIET it is inside the cabin.

Kuz, you're the man for getting the 6-speed...I see it way too often where people get these beautiful-looking G coupes and go with the auto tranny...I'm sorry, but that's just a mistake, to get the auto.
Congrats on the new car man, and good luck with her!

Thanks! I'm used to having a 6th gear... so its no biggie for me. No real use for it other than saving gas on the highway. But is is sweet to say "Yup, it's a 6-speed..."

I went the popcharger route... I didn't want to risk losing any torque going the CAI route. Not used to the torque and loving it! I cant wait to hear this thing rev up with the filter. The box just came in yesterday! Tein Htechs, Z-Tube/Popcharger, and JDM sidemarkers! Saturday is going to be a lot of fun! I love getting sideways too! Its very addictive! :drag:

i just put a pop charger on my Z! did you install yours yet? i heard that the g35 can't use the heat shield for some reason. if this is true, i'd be willing to buy your shield :) when i bought mine i got the wrong heat shield and it won't mount correctly :( well anyway goodluck with it, your gonna like it alot, i know i do!

I sold the celica for 8k... Way below what I wanted but I had to ditch her since the G was already in my driveway. And the G35 is and '06.

Nothing really to take photos of. Just put the intake on and now debating whether to throw those springs on (Tein H-Techs). The JDM sidemarkers (frosted) will go on this weekend weather/daylight permitting. We should get together soon and take some shots!

Yeah I installed it last week and maaan does it sound mean! Around 4k RPMs she screams... I'm definitely wasting a ton of gas just to hear it, especially on days like today with the windows down haha... The heatsheild actually did fit, but it was kind of confusing. Really look at the installation write up that came with it and make sure you are putting it on correctly. We should get together as well, Z/G photos! Here is a picture of the Popcharger/Z-tube installed... It does look about an inch too short, but folks over at G35driver.com says thats how it supposed to look with that combo so I'll live with it.

Your pop charger is definitely not sitting rite. If you haven't fixed it yet you should take another look at it. Also make sure it is well away from that ac line. A few people have a gradually rubbed a hole in it from intakes and that's an expensive fix. It also appears you don't have the bracket on that supports the the filter element its self. I can take pictures of mine if you need to see it.
Do you have the z tube as well? Because it fit perfectly with the G intake tube. Seems the Z tube is a half inch too short. No problems at all as of yet, and yes the bracket is on. That was during install. I'll keep an eye on the ac line, thanks for looking out.

that would be cool, thanks!
I forget who posted it, saying bolt ons are pointless on the VQ... wrong. Is your car equipped with the rev-up motor? If so, the rev-ups are responding VERY VERY well to bolt ons. So don't throw that out of the mix.

Ok I just compared yours to mine and i now think yours is fine and it is just the angle of the pics that was throwing me off.
I installed a spacer under that bar that shoots to the drivers side to keep it away from the a/c line but i need to re adjust it as it seems to have moved a little bit over the 3 years. My filter is no longer pretty blue (that fades quickly) and i need to polish up my heat shield again.

Yeah I thought I had it right. But I will add a spacer so that it doesnt rub the AC line and probably shield it with elec tape or something. I really appreciate you taking to time to try and help me though! Us G's gotta stick together! :)
did you get the sport package or just the wheels?
Premium package and Aero package... Includes sport suspension, 19" wheels, diffuser, sport front bumper, new '06 spoiler, heated mirrors, XM, bluetooth and all of that jazz.

I have been hearing the same thing. Who knows though. No real solid plans in the works right now.

Bolt ons on a G arent really worth it (any year or motor).
Ive seen TONS of modded G's and the power u get from ALL the bolt-ons isnt that great...and the cost approaches that of going FI.
For example...intake, exhaust, headers, cat-deletes, utec, cams, plenum MIGHT make u another 30-40 wheel hp....which as most of you know, isnt a HUGE difference on the street. The cost (including install) will also be pushing 3500-4000ish...maybe more...and at around 5500-6500 your looking at Forced Induction prices.
Im not saying dont do it (because i did!) but dont expect much...
BTW, i love your G...its cleannn!
Thanks again brothaman... and I agree with you, im not going to apeshlt on n/a bolt-ons. If I head down that path, I will probably look into vortech.
