What state are you in?

If its PA, you have no chance of passing.. You might as well try to buy illegal stickers.

I'm in Jersey

Well since Jersey is basically a communist state I doubt you will ever pass, but maybe the moons will align and you will have a miracle and pass!

Do they hook up your tailpipe to an emissions tester/sniffer?

NVM, I just found out I don't have a EVAP nor a EGR anyways.. Don't wanna buy them either

Anybody with local hookups?

i wont say where specifically but usually if you check out a gas station that can do inspections for a little extra cash youll get passed.

You can't get a sniffer test because most NJ inspection centers lack the AWD dyno to use them.

They will hook up into your OBDI or II port as check for any codes that deal with emissions. The P0420 code for lack of cat/non-working cat is what they will look for.

They will also check for excessive soot in the tailpipe and cat shields.

They can still do the sniffer test by doing a 2-speed idle test.

They didn't do that with me.

I think around here they don't put you on rollers, they just hook the tube up to your tailpipe and do the test just idling.
