In the process of finding a garage at my new house, only security was a detachable wheel which was off. I NEVER EVER leave it out but this was an extreme case....My roomates never believed me but oh well--- its not that much that got taken just annoying

They broke the window to get in, found my hidden hood latch and popped that bitch but didnt take anything from the engine....

Don't take this the wrong way, but that's why I won't own a Honda. On the same note, I won't park my car in North Jersey though either.

I went to a honda-tech meet yesterday, there was a group of kids walking around and taking pictures of peoples licence plates with their camera phones. THen they were talking about "gettin motors"

Very sorry to hear man. And I agree, this is the biggest reason I won't own a Honda. I would love to have a project car almost exactly like that, but I don't want to take this kind of risk. It just seems inevitable almost. Good luck man. :(

If you guys are worried about the "steal & strip" kind...

Alarm system:
Let the theif break in. When he starts the car without deactivating the alarm the countdown begins. Let him drive it for 1 minute, a certain distance, or achieve a certain speed. THEN shut the car down and activate the siren/horn/flashing lights/Lo-Jack.

When he's stuck in the middle of the road with a dead car making all that noise.... It'll discourage him in the worst way.

Other options: Move to Texas where you can shoot the asshole when you find him stranded in YOUR car.

Well heres the explanation for everything---

My car is pretty much stripped down to a functional race car. It has none of the "mad jdm" pieces that are so highly coveted. Nothing on the car is really anything thats desirable to the common theif---aka stereo, center console, radar detector, takatas, name brand steering wheel, strut bars yada yada

Anyway as for the insurance--- progressive wont give me full coverage on the car for less then 2500 a year, which is pointless because to replace parts on a civic costs way less then the difference in yearly insurance parts. ANDD they wont even cover all the money I have put into it so its like pissing money away.

anddd finally for the alarm part of it a good alarm thats gonna stop these kids is worth more then the parts they stole and for anyone thats professional its a ****in civic they are gonna find my alarm brain and steal it anyway....

Its sad to say that this was partly my fault for keeping it on the street for more then a month---THe house I live in is in between roomates so the garage is poacked with **** so i didnt clean it out....needless to say i made ****in room today
