CHAOS

Well, after doing lots of of searching on the various message boards and coming up empty, I've decided to do a write up on how to install a genuine V-Limited lip. First things first:
You will need:
- STi or WRX with STi front splitters
- V-Limited lip
- 10mm socket with short extention and ratchet
- subaru underbody push pins
- cleaning product (i used armor all cleaning wipes)
- body/molding tape (optional)
- jack stands and jack
- a buddy to help hold the lip during the install
- your favorite beer
preface:
In order for this to go smoothly, you should have all of the afformentioned things. Especially the car and lip, this will not work on a regular wrx bumper. This install is very easy and straight forward so there is no need to worry about it being difficult.
step one: Preperation
- pull car onto a flat sturdy surface (such as a garage)

- jack the car up and place the jack stands under the appropriate spots on the sides of the car... be sure that your E-brake is on.
- once they are under the car and set at the appropriate height, lower the car gently onto the stands

step two: Removal
- crawl under the car
- you will notice six (6) 10mm bolts on the left and right side, holding the STi splitters on, as well as 3 tabs in the center of the bumper. for reference i held up the lip to the car to see which bolts i needed to pull off. (pictured in the next step)
- now its time to start removing the 6 10mm bolts on the splitters, three on each side.

- the bolts pictured are on the driver's side of the car, it is the same set up on the passenger side. all 6 of the bolts need to be removed. Be careful not to dislodge the clips between the bumper and splitters.
- now you can begin wiping everything down with the clean cloth, to help prevent grit rubbing on your paint. Also, if you are using the body tape this will give you a clean surface to mount it to.

step three: Installation
- this is where you will need a buddy
- if you have decided to use the tape, now is the time to put it on either the top of the lip or the bottom of the bumper... to find out where you need it exactly, just hold the lip up in place and see where you want the tape.
- Now, you are ready to install the bolts you removed back into the lip/splitters.
- have your friend hold up the lip on the very end (driver or passenger side, doesn't matter) and attach one of the 10mm bolts. do not tighten it all the way.

- then attach the bolt on the other end.
- now place two of the push pins in the tabs in the center

- next, put back the rest of the bolts, and fully tighten them all.
- finally, wipe down the lip to remove oils from your hands and take off the protective cover that is on the STi emblem.
- be careful when lowering the car off the stands and pulling the jack out... it may catch the lip.
step four:
- step back and have a brew.

final product:
