p0442 wtf

so the 457 is the gas cap, wtf could cause a 442?

P0442 Evaporative emission control system malfunction

pump cover?

fuel injectors?

rail?

dude you throw alot of codes, why? Since I have had my car done I never through a check engine light.

it has all been my fuel stuff,

the 1st two were the fuel cap not being tight.. this is the 3rd one so far.

I dunno, then maybe my check engine light is broke because I never throw codes. Do you have one of those readers to tell you what's wrong with the car?

57,000 miles with no lights.. other then those 3.. again.

I think its time for a new gasket.

Here is some info for some future modders.

Incase anyone is wondering this CEL is infamous for a few things.

1. Fuel pump - if you installed a new one, your gasket might be fubard. The slightest nick or tear on it will throw a CEL.

2. Carbon canaster is wacked out, check all the lines onit.

3. Connector above the canaster sometimes gets corroded. The plug is facing up and any type of debree can get on it.
