TST Member CHR!S's civic just stolen.

We were discussing funny Asian commercials on AIM, then he dissapearred for a while. A short time later he called me to inform me the cops had just left, and his car had been stolen. He heard it drive away.

He's in a state of panic and devastation right now, it's hard to stay on the phone with him..

Dude, it will show up but I hate to say it the car will not be in one piece. The parts should be easy to find since they are all rare and might link you back to the thief.

Philly yes and stripped mos def. I live in philly so I'm going to keep a sharp eye out because this has got to stop dont these people have any respect for other people. There straight up trash and should be lock in a closet.

unfortunatley there are too many people out there who like to take advantgae and take what others worked hard for. the world just keeps getting worst and worst by the minute. i think they should be locked in a closet and tortured

I will keep my eyes peeled. Saving your number into my phonebook. Also checking ebay. Chances are that you will get the car back within a week, but all of the parts will be gone. This is the kinda thing that makes me think twice about doing ANYTHING with my car, especially it being a civic

super sensitive alarms usually do more harm than good. in computer programming you learn that there has to be a balance between security and usefullness. for example, if you keep popping up warnings to the user, eventually they stop reading them and click ok for everything without reading it. same thing in and office environment if you force everyone to change their passwords every so often.. eventually everyone has a post it on their monitor with their password written on it. the same thing applies to sensitive car alarms... if a bird pooping on your car is gonna set the alarm off, eventually you start ignoring it. its human nature.

One of my froends who just moved here from Jersey is a really shady character. He was telling me the other night that he can get 10k cash for a 03 or newer with less that 40k on the odo.

I dont know many teenagers that would turn down that kinda cash. Sucks to admit it.

He then went on to tell me how they go to car shows and look for people that have the pagers on their key rings. They get their plate number, then their address, then they'll periodically visit that house and will walk past the car really early in the morning, MAKING SURE TO SET OFF THE ALARM, by doing this over and over in the middle of the night the theif knows the owner will lower the sensitivity of the alarm or ignore it all together. After about a month of casing they just walk up to the car and break in. They know if the alarm goes off that the chances the owner will do antyhing besides hit "Ignore" are very slim.

^Just a little FYI for everyone with 2 way alarms!

Oh, and I have my buddy keeping his ears open for anything. Hes pretty deep into that world. He was busted for insurance fraud so hes since cleaned up his act but he still keeps his ties.

those body style civics are disappearing left and right... My girlfriend's turned up last week in Camden. I'd suggest you call the Camden Police department because it took them 5 days to call us and let us know they had the car in their posession.

car was found today. they took the bumpers, hood, grille, lights, trunk, doors, fenders, seats, radio & speakers, cluster, climate control, intake, ehader, and exhaust. maybe ill buy it back and give those parts another good home =(

This was the single biggest reason I moved out of the NE in 1993. I couldn't keep my Buick in my driveway.

because on my screen the car looks orangeish and if it was a custom paint it can probbably give you one more way of catching this theif especially if he bolts the stuff on a car and it does not match the other paint as good. just a thought. they would have to get it repainted at a bodyshop somewhere or drive the car around like that till it gets painted.

yea that is true. but my car was stock milano red. im thinking the thief has a red civic coupe that he wanted to do a 96-98 front end conversion, so he stole my car and that other guys car and took the best from both. im thinking this since the other civic was a 99-00 front, it was red, and it had a gsr motor. pics of the car tonight, not sure how i feel about seeing it one more time :eek:
