Just stick with the drop in filter for the airbox, put the $300 twords a boost controler and a reflash.

You cant change the intake on an Evo unless you get a reflash. The MAF won't read correctly.

My boyfriend make 400 whp on the stock turbo and the stock filter. I would also recommend putting the money towards something else.

intake does make a difference, but your not going to be able to put the actual MAF Pipe on the car. I'm going to be getting my car back today, i'll stop over when i get home if i see your car outside! :0) things are complete.... WOOHOO, also than you can hear my HKS RS intake.... if you get the HKS RS or any intake w/ a MAF Pipe you should order an e-flash w/ it. it's 84.99.....

The cars an EVO IX get it right. As for the air filter HKS is a good choice just can't use the maf pipe till you flash, but can use the cone shaped (curved w/ HKS) filter with no trouble. I have the cable and program to reflash the ECU if you decide to reflash and would like to borrow. Olsookie know how to get a hold of me for it.

if you are going to get an intake, let me know, my friend is a dealer and can get stuff at a great price.

TT makes good power wit evo's as well as Sean@ivey. Sean can tune on anyones dyno but usually they are all in NJ. There is always those mail in flashes to tune you to your "mods" rather than the actual car getting strapped down. It's obvious what is recommended more....

I heard you can program the stock ecu by yourself now adays. My buddy is doing it to his own Evo. Ill have to ask him more about it. I belive teh cable is dirt cheap and the program is all over the interent.

Yeah yeah, it's called ecuflash or something and you can get the software for free and just buy the cable. My friend has it and thinks he can tune cars but he is just a [insert imagination here]. lol j/p

PM, silver05bullet if your interested in that....

ecuflash is how they are all doing it. when you buy a generic flash from AMS, Dynoflash or Turbotrix, it's all fancied up with ECUFlash.

I stopped by today, rang the door bell, no body answered, the front door was open and everything... i'll stop by again tomorrow.

we'll talk tomorrow when i stop by or sometime during the week.

I'd hold off on the intake unless your only concern is the "whoosh noise", which is most likely the case here..You can spend that money for mods that give you HP, or you can buy an intake that gives you the "whoosh noise" but no real gain in HP. If you must have the noise, get an HKS RS, ARC induction Box, or buschur.. If you just want more power, finish your exhaust and get a reflash..

Intake, Reflash, Full 3" exhaust, Injectors, Mbc = 330 to the wheels

Why would you tell someone to get injectors with those mods ?

Intake<<Maybe>> drop in will work fine. A nice 3" TBE (O2 houseing if its in your budget), MBC and I would recomend a Walbro #342 for some insurance. Granted the stock Evo IX pump pushes more fuel, but they are just as unreliable at that HP level as the Evo 8 pumps.

Dynoflash E-Flashes are 84.99 AL uped the price.
Tactrix cables are $96 Shipped and insured.

I would get EvoScan ($15) to monitor whats going on at a minimum. Nice program, new version 0.8 logs fast. With "MalibuJack's" Log analyzer its a very effective and fast tool. You can also input your wideband

I'd say get the DP & CAT next, TTP-Engineering's DP and Resonated Cat Delete or regular testpipe( $165 DP, 85 RES Delete, DP + TP 235 shipped) The o2 houseing is 100. Fits decently on the EVo IX and the price is right. When you can get the MBC get your flash and throw the parts on.

Have someone download your stock ROM, save it in a few places. Then you can send it into Al or one of the vendors offering E-mailed flashes. That will enable you to flash back to stock at will. Where as some flashes actually LOCK you ecu, but recently we now have the ability to unlock said flashes.

I have a few EVO IX flashes myself, PM me about them. <<<On another forum talk like that might get you beheaded by a vendor>>>

Cheers!

+1, told her the other night when i took her for a ride that she should just finish up her exhaust and buy a e-flash from DynoFlash. She already has a drop in.

Injectors... lol, she'd be better off spending that money on a GSC cam!

just finish your exhaust and flash Tiff, you'll be so much happier... a reflash alone will put a bigger smile on the face! ;)
