That's sick! I want something like that!
On DSMTuner's they have this whole article on taking a picture of your car and making it look anime. Definately cool stuff you can do with digital photography and a computer.

i was reading how to do this on honda-tech.com. basically i came to the conclusion that what you do is take the same picture at different exposures and then layer them together using photoshop cs2 or some other program that makes them into an HDR file...hope that helped

Thats not really HDR - HDR is supposed to capture multiple exposures at same F stop in order to capture all of the high and low contrast - that image is FLAT in contrast... nothing pops out at all.
This is not a great example but its one of the first that I did... notice the sky.

That top Honda picture doesn't look like its HDR though...the colors and shadows are almost fake.
But HDR kicks ass. I just found a photoshop plugin for it.

hdr cannot be displayed on consumer monitors because its range is far too great, you need to convert it to a tone mapped image to display it properly. there are some really amazing looking photos out there using this technique and i would like to play with it some... but in the end its still kinda gimicky and gets old after a while, kinda like a fisheye or something.
here are some sweet HDR/Tonemapped photos:

ha you take for granted how even and perfect the exposure is on those... some of them look like paintings a bit. those photos are HDR but then are tonemapped as well and are dumbed down so they can be displayed properly. i'm not sure if there are HDR monitors out there which will become more common or not... i'm pretty new to the whole HDR revolution myself but its pretty cool.

Hehe yeah if they just "look like photos" to you, you probably wouldn't care if they're HDR or not. Ever see a picture with blown out "bright" areas and too dark "dark" areas? That's a standard metered photo - HDR combines 7 - ~ exposures to balance those extremes.

I think the pics look pretty cool. Almost perfectly rendered, like what xbox 1200 would look like:) Ill have to try this out myself.

It's default in Photoshop.
