Hey,
Is anyone regular @ SCCA Autocross in Philly area? Beside getting the SCCS member ship, what else do I need?
Also, I have a helmet from Motorcycle. Is that allowed for AutoX? Should I buy a new helmet?
Please, let me know of the next event so that I stop by...
Thanks,
Dan.

i belive the Motorcycle helmet is actually a higher rating then the SA2005 that is now required for autox and track use...
and for autx...you dont even need the member ship IIRC...but its not a bad thing either way to have...

Let me guess, you wanna test that brand new MR, huh? :driving:
There was an SCCA event at the Boeing facility last month... I was working that day. But there's a few more in this area before the season's out. I'll check the dates and PM you.

Philly Region is running in Warminster, PA on August 27th. Registration Link (http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.Show?psevent_id=4849&psrnd=.09868072713838106521891759127028559687)
The motorcycle helmet is fine as long as it has a Snell rating of M95 or later. The SA helmets have more fireproofing, but that isn't required for Autox.

Basically, if the helmet is road legal for a motorcycle than it's fine for autocross. They've changed the rules recently. I used to autoX in my dirtbike helmet because it had a real good vision range. However, I don't think a dirtbike helmet would be legal anymore.

An Evo MR would be classified in A stock. Here is a link where you can download how cars are classed and which categories cars are in:

Well, My car only has 477 miles.... It seems that I still have quite a bit of driving to do... Once, Break-In period is over, I love to do AUTOX. Since it would be my first time, I will just have to drive slow and observe what you guys do.... Hope to see you guys soon!!!!
