now where's the party at?

Ronin Tactical
08-14-2006, 03:05 PM
Not to thread jack, but the party's at Montana West in Quakertown on Saturday night! We will have finished a beef and beer to help a great friend of my sons - this kid, Doug, got hit by a pickup truck (hit an run) while training on his road bike. He was in a coma for months, and is now doing great.

This young guy was the only friend of my son's who would actually visit him in the hospital when he was in for cancer treatments. I'll definitely spring for beef and beer to help him out. A bunch of us are going to Montana West for karaoke afterwards.

If anyone's interested, the event is at the fire hall in Ambler this Saturday at 7. Here's a link to Doug's blog site, talks about his recovery...

Age has nothing to do with it IMHO. It's all in how hard you work for it. I'v never meet anyone my age driving an RX-7 like mine. Maybe most people our age aren't ready to work as hard as I am for my car.

Yeah? I think younger kids tend to put more money and time into cars then the older folk. Reason being is they actually have priorities like a mortgage, wife, kids, REAL bills, etc. They are making 10x as much as we are but their bills are 10x what ours are. Plus, we are young and stupid which is probably the reason why we dump over 30k into a car which isn't worth ****. lol

Ronin Tactical
08-14-2006, 05:11 PM
I don't know about that - this is the most money I've ever put into a car (modifications)...I've seriously trumped anything I've done when I was younger and single.

Yeah, but usally kids our age start out with a cheap car and dump thousands of dollars into it.

ie--A civic with 10,000$ in mods

You and me are a little different. We started off with prety expensive cars and then poured WAY to much money into them. I think we're obsessed (you especially)

haha. Tell me about it. Well we both started out with cars that weren't so expensive, did them up and sold them for what he have now. Either way, it's an obsession and I keep spending and spending. I was showing my mom and dad reciepts the other day of what I bought etc and they almost had a heart attack. My dad, being the muscle head idiot he is thinks I shoulda bought a z06 with the money I put into this subaru, or what he calls is a piece of **** museum piece. haha

Drftpretty
08-14-2006, 07:40 PM
Or people willing to work that hard have more important demands on their hard earned money. I work damned hard, wish I could afford a FD. In fact I could if I didnt have to pay a mortgage and malpractice insurance.

I dont really agree with that response. Age has everything to do with it IMHO lol

I did. Long story if your intrested PM me.

that makes an interesting family situation.

an example:

My wife's mom was 16 when she had her. Her mom is one of eight.
The mom married a guy (not wife's dad) who is 7 years younger and my wife was 16 at the time.

so that means:
I am - 35 divorced and have a 7 year old girl
my wife - 30
her mom - 49
her step dad - 42

Wife's mom wanted me to ask her husband if it was okay to marry thier "daughter". He's friggin' 7 years older than me, There's no way I could do that.
