Having a Car wash or something?

I was thinking about trying to have a fundraiser like a car wash to raise some money. This money could go towards flyers, stickers, decals, or even maybe renting somewhere out to have a one day party for only those in TST. I was thinking that there alot of places if we get enough people and enough money together we could rent the place out for the day and food and games and a giant car show with all of our cars. I am not trying to exclude outsiders but people that aren't even members show up at RR just to show off and have no idea about this site so why don't we have a day just for us. Let me know what everyone thinks, it may be a bad idea but then again it could be a whole lot of fun.

i think its an awesome idea. it would be sweet to raise money to put towards stickers or a fun day, or another idea would be to raise money for a non-profit locally or internationally. that would be doing something good for the community and it would also give the forum a good name.
good idea... are you interested in following up on it and being in charge of making it happen? if so then go for it man.... i'd be happy to be your co-pilot but i'd really like to see some forum members get involved and lead the charge on events and projects and all of that.

The money for fun stuff would be cool, but this would be even better, I think that's a great idea. Or take a percentage and put it towards the site and then put the rest towards a non-profit group.

I have no problem taking charge on this activity. I would like to get some other responses first and see what others think, but I will start looking around for a spot to have a car wash or even a place with an enormous parking lot where we can hold a fund-raiser car show. Having most of the money go to a non-profit organization was a great idea and it will make our sites reputation be well known. So if anyone else would like to help out let me know and lets try to get this together sometime in late may or early june.

my first thoughts are:
we need someplace with water that we can use basically all day (and it needs drainage too).
we need somewhere that has a lot of traffic passing by.
we should do it a ways off so we can get it organized and also advertise for it.
find a good non-profit...

Wal-Mart has a thing where not only will they let you use their parking lot and water, if it's going to a charity they'll double your money. So if you raise $1000, they'll give $1000 too. Check 'em out.

Even though I don't support Wal-Mart at all, this is a good deal.

admission. ;) We don't charge for exhaust gasses in a tuner club. That'd get expensive.

I called Wal Mart up and asked about holding a car was at a store and what have to do is write a letter with the sites Letter Head and explain why we are trying to raise money and for you. Then take the letter to the store, drop it at the courtesy desk and have Attention store manager on the envelope. Once the letter is in their hands we will recieve a reply within 72 hours. Peopke will definitely come get their cars washed with all our cars lined up in the parking lot. They will at least stop to see what is going on. I will keep you all posted on what happens.

Sorry, I haven't gotten back to everyone about this. I have most of the letter written. I will make sure that it is finished by tuesday and at Wal Mart. I leave for Texas for a few days on Thursday so I am hoping we will have a response by then if I get it to them by Tuesday. I will let evryone Tuesday when I deliver the letter and then when I recieve a response. I like the girls in bikkini's idea. :banana:
