My cold air in-take is rubbing against the metal of the car (the hole on the side of the inside of hood where the air is brought in) and makes a really annoying sound. Anyone know of any kind of rubber insulatation i can use to fit into the hole and prevent the rub?

cut a bigger hole...

cutting a bigger hole won't get rid of problem. the intake tubbing will still rest on the hole

Get some small diameter silicon hose. Cut it to the needed length, and then slit it along the length.

take some vaccum line and cut it down the middle and slid it over the metal edge.

Just so you know, becareful what you let rubber rub up against. Its a VERY high friction surface and it will rub thru any metal. I know this sounds ridiculous... but I had a silicone rubber charge pipe coupler rub a hole thru my STEEL abs brake line!

See the flat portion? That was done in about 1200 miles of rubber rubbing metal. You have been warned!

Also, its worth noting that the area that rubbed did not move very much at all! It was merely touching!

hmm. Well you just got like 12 suggestions, what worked for you?

Maybe try to make a bracket for the intake to not move?
