For those of you who don't know what happened and how I got loyally screwed from another shop, here is the post I made on this forum...

http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17469

Anyway,
I brought the car to Kevin @ Wicked Motorsports, and I must say, its been the BEST decision I've made yet.

First thing Kevin did was hook up the needed equipment and began data logging my car, and its current tune from Performance Specialties.
Well, the tune was totally jacked. #1. My car was running WAY to hot, inlet temps of almost 200 degrees at the top of a pull. #2, With ported heads and cams, I should have been seeing LESS boost, NOT more, and as the car stood, I was seeing about 4lbs more boost then I should have been...which would also explain the heat issue. #3 The tune from Performace Specialties had me running at about 18-19* of timing...and NOTHING being pulled out for the heat...can we say a ticking bomb waiting to go off?
Needless to say my car ran like crap...

It took Performance Specialties over a week to tune my car...of which a whole DAY was spent trying to just get the car to idle...

Well Kevin realized that the IMRC plates were causing a restriction, and had them replaced before beginning the retune. Once installed...it took Kevin all of maybe 4-5hrs to 100% retune the car from SCRATCH. It took him only 15 mins or less to get the car to idle!!! Needless to say....I'm thinking WTF is wrong with the other shop.

Upon retune, throttle response for all of you who know the new "throttle by wire" can be a pain, and sluggish, is UNBLIEVEABLY responsive. As far as timing goes, well it has been set up to pull the correct timing upon getting too hot.

All I can say is that my car has never felt better...I really am impressed with the throttle responsiveness that Kevin was able to achieve. Overall, the car feels great, as it should since it now has an AWESOME tune from Kevin @ Wicked Motorsports.

I honestly can not say enough about Kevins work. If anyone needs work done and it look for a good, no GREAT, and honest place to take your car to, Wicked Motorsports is the place!!

I'm a customer for life...and some more work is in progress for my car!!!

Here's to you Kevin and all your great work!!! :wiggle: :supz: :drag:

what was the boost problem?

what was the boost problem?

Part of the problem was the stock IMRC plates that were still on the car. After replacing them with Steeda Charge Motion Plates delete kit, it was better.

However, it might also be the cams believe it or not.

Freakin yeah, everything is new...New block, new heads (ported), new cams, new clutch, new flywheel...lol see the signature lol.

And yep, still boosting a lil more then I thought I would with ported heads...and from what some of the manufactuers are saying about the parts, the cams could be the problem, not lifting enough, or better yet, not lifting at the right time, hence causing an air flow restriction.

A/F ratio, don't quote me on this...I can't remember, but I want to say 11.9 at WOT?

ALso happens to be on the same side that the jackass missed the plug in, and had the oil come spirting out, which also happened to be the side that caused the chain to come loose....

Hmmm.....shotgun....orrr.....razorblades? :furious: :furious:
