86.5 N/A supra 5spd

a friend of mine is leaving for basic next week and gave me his supra. it has a blown head gasket and im told is knocking. so i figure, wth, ill go and swap out the motor when im done with my 240. my dad says no more motor swaps infront of the house, get a garage. so, i guess im going to sell it. im wondering what these cars are worth. i really dont know that much about them.

Hey I have an 89 and i have the same problem you have! Well im not sure how much there worth buy i would say there worth a good amount of money thats why im holding on to mine.

Its a pretty underated car actually. It all depends on the condition and mileage. I have a turbo model that I am selling in great condition that I could not let go for no less than 3k, that is not what I am asking but the 7mgte is a really powerful platform with only two issues from the factory that are only brought about when raising the boost. The head gasket and the oil pump. When you get the stock toyota parts not the issue is addressed. Upgrade parts are given to you listed as stock parts. Very easy to mod and definite to get a minimum 400whp with supporting mods (Lexus V8 MAF/550cc injectors/SAFC/Head Gasket/ARP Bolts) on stock block. If the body is in nice shape you can sell that for 1k ... I see some people looking for bodies on the Supra Forums. Put it in the paper ... Corolla guys go nuts for Supra parts ... the rear end and tranny is worth at least $500+ ... They have been using the parts for drag/drift setup. I was sorry that I sold my 1980 for peanuts :furious: ... You can make some decent change of it if you play your cards right. Good Luck
