So i was thinking of gettin a respray done at maacco and i was wondering if anyone has gotten this done, or know of anyone that has had it done? Im not looking for anything spectacular just something that will look good for the time for the being. If not maacco how much would a respray somewhere else be?

Damn its that bad??! What do they do, or not do, that makes it soo cheap?
Bodywork, painting is expensive, I know that. Its tedious work. How come they are soo cheap?

My firend got his civic done thier and it looked horribbel.. it was so rough and had alot of orange peel... not worth it, He got the front resprayed by quality care and it looked real nice.

maaco really depends on the location.

I had a friend who got his car painted at the earl schieb years ago on spring garden street.
they provide the same thing (cheap paint jobs).
maybe you should visit a shop and see the cars that come out.

ive used maaco twice..never had any problems. its not like a civic has a high end paint job to match to.. im sure you'll be fine.

paint is about prep... and macco don't do very good prep becasue the painters are pushed to move the cars fast. Its the nature of fast food painting.

you get what you pay for. Macco offers more than just the $199 Ambassador Service or whatever they're calling their cheap stuff these days. If you go there willing to drop $1,000 they'll give you something you'll be happy with for a few years. If you drop $199, the paint might fall off on your ride home.

If you're really looking for something nice, let me know. I paint cars as a side job of sorts and could probably hook you up with something.

I've heard that Maaco does a horrible job at prepping the car, but spray just fine.

Im looking for something that will look good for a year or two till i start making major improvements to it. That guy with the escort (in the gallery) that got his done at maaco looks pretty good, but ya cant tell perfectly thru pics

Gaze PM me and let me know how much it would be for a nice respray or something. I want to stay black, but i want a nice deep black.

wanna try the $50 method?

there are pics of peoples results, and i think they are pretty damn good for $50

EDIT: I'd say you go for it... not need for a booth when you are just rolling on paint!

I suspect my Neon had a Maaco respray. The paint looks fine, but overspray in the door jambs and behind the fuel door are a dead give-away that the car was repainted.

As with most things in life, with paint jobs, you get what you pay for.

Im actually thinking about trying out that $50 method, then if it doesnt work the prep work will be done for the most part for a maaco job. Woudl anyone be willing to help??

im planning a "Roller Method" paint job in the next couple of weeks. My brothers 83 Cutlass looks like a disaster and I dont feel like wasting HOK on it.

My car doesnt look horrible, only the roof and above the door are faded, and a little spot on the back bumper, then just small scratches here and there

i say do the $50 method.
do you have an orbital sander? that would help a ton

You have to expect what you pay for. My buddy got his car done there for $250 door jams and all and it looks fine, no problems whatso ever. The better you want it to come out, the more prep work you have to do yourself.
People dont seem to understand that fact, they have a spray booth and all.
All and all, i would say it is worth it. I have also heard too that, depending which maaco you go to the quality fluctuates

Wow, if you could point me in the direction of the maaco you used that would be awesome. And if maybe you would be up for some body work, maybe just show me a thing or 2 cause im not real familiar with it yet. Ill supply some pizza and beer and stuff.
