The D200 certianly is not for everyone

bingo! if he can name 5 major aperture settings without looking them up online, then i think he should spend the money on the D200... otherwise, well i think you get my point. first camera for a photo noob... baby steps dont hurt.
by the way i think i complimented some of your other stuff but again, very nice... thanks for sharing with us and if you have any more dont be shy... :)
there's actually a photography thread thats just ongoing to show off your latest and greatest.

I have a D100, a D70 and a 300D...
I use the 300D the most believe it or not. Why? Because L lenses rock your face off.

I don't think that's the case at all...Troll recommended either the D50 or D70s to me and I'm really grateful that he did. If I had gone with a more complicated camera to begin with, I probably would've given up on learning it.
I'm getting better with my D50 and once I master it, I'm going to move up to a D200...or something comparable...but definitely a Nikon.
