SOOO yesterday I noticed an additional wooshing sound that I haven't heard before... so I decide to go WOT and then notice my AFR is @ 10.1 and boost is below a bar. When I roll the windows up it sounds like the leak/wooshing sound comes from the driver side by the firewall.

A quick inspection under the hood didn't show anything so today i'm hoping to get it jacked up and looked underneath.

Anyone have a similar problem? If so i'd love to get your insight... thanks

Hmm, I beleive if your wastegate is stuck open you would see around 7 PSI. I had the problem of 0 boost.. it fixed itself somehow.

For an exhaust leak, depending on how bad it actually is, you will usually make target boost (later in the rpm range) and AFR should still be close to target. It sounds more like you have a boost leak, which generally gives the results you describe. Also, an exhaust leak usually screams, while a boost leak usually whooshes. Check all of the IC connections to make sure they are tight before you go to the trouble of getting it up in the air to look at the exhaust.

by the way, how do you fix the wastegate issue if indeed it is stuck open?

I wish I had an answer for you on that one. My shizz starting working by itself. Maybe get a rubber mallet and give it a few love taps while someone is giving it the gas. Other then that I really have no idea.

the clamp around the air output from the IC to the motor was loose... tightened it up and WHAM

11.3aft @ WOT :)

thats what i thought- the car was running rich because it was expecting more air, but the leak didn't let it go into the motor
