i have to say i went to my first RR meet and was very impressed with the quality of cars there. i was expecting like civics with fart cans but i was dead wrong, the import scene around here is top notch, i mean STI's, EVO's, SRT-4's, S2K all over the place, oh and u can't forget about the turbo spec-v representing

i have to say lshatch's s2k was very nice, we sould race or somthing

Did you get any stock vs. turbo'd dyno's done? But back when I had my Spec V one of the problems I always hear with them was that the QR25DE wasn't a great engine for adding F/I too. But not knowing what else you have done to the car then it is kinda hard to tell. But either way good luck with the car and if I used to have traction problems with my stock Spec V I don't even want to imagine it with a turbo on it

I don't want to sound like an elitist, but the kind of crowd that usually has the Civics with the melon shooter and altezza's just doesn't fit in with the Red Robin crowd.
Most of us are in it to show how a well thought out ride, cleanly and (usually) tastefully done, can turn out. We aren't out there to see who has the baddest, loudest, brightest, or most obnoxious car. We started there to talk about our cars, show the new mods, and grab a bite to eat. The Fast and the Furious we are not. :wiggle:

Glad you had a decent time.

Sheesh! After seeing what some of the rides are, I may want to refrain from embarrassing myself and keep the wagon safe at home. Don't know if there's a place for an N/A Protege with minimal mods..............

LSHatch

Don't worry. All sorts of cars come. And your car is definitely allowed!

I'm assuming it's a Protege5?? They are sweet.

Sid
04-27-2005, 01:06 AM
Yeah, a Sunlight Silver Metallic 5.
The way I see it is that by the time I can make a meet, I'll have a new header and hopefully a new front lip/underspoiler. More mods=more cooler. lol Now if I could just make it fast. N/A.

Nothing but high quality automobiles at the Red Robin meets. And there is a good variety. Of course the usual cars, STI/WRXs, the DSMs, the 240s, a few of us EVOs. But what's really cool (I think) are the unique cars that show up. The light blue 64 Mustang, the 4G63 powered Porsche 911, etc. When you see a variety of different, very high caliber automobiles, I think it sends a serious message to on-lookers that these are dedicated automobile owners. It's a true craft, and when you know your craft... you stand out.

The ricers take one look at "us" and roll out. There's way too much heat in the Red Robin parking lot to come with a set of 5-hp stickers and fart can.

Even if you have a bone stock car, and you come out to enjoy the scene, that's cool, it's the ones that come with a muffler thinking it gives them 10 hp.

If you're gonna come... come correct.

haha, there are a good amount of subaru's at the meets, s2000's do seem to be rare in the red robin parkin lot, especially one as sexy as hopper's, hey i have a teg and didnt see many of them i saw one or two, very quality car might i ass lol, but its definately nice seeing the random cars here and there, the turbo spec, thats pretty rare, but everyone is there to show off what is nice and not rice, if u got rice dont come in with an attitude that thinks u can beat any car in a race, just park it

If your turbo is putting down 300whp...you could definitely hang with an STI... if anything I'd say youd pull on one....stock STI that is. I'm guessing they put down like 240awhp.

im guessing the "inside joke" is my comment made. i had it coming- but to explain:

i only assumed the white sti (chrissti) was very fast because it had a large fmic, and people who know what they are doing with cars usually put the front-mount on when they need it- meaning the top-mount is just not efficient enough, meaning they have all of the other mods like a larger turbo, fuel system, etc.... i know about how the top mounts like to heat soak and all of that, but honestly with a stock turbo you don't need a front-mount.

so- guess i gave chrissti too much credit. don't worry it won't happen again.
