how hard is it to replace the EGT with a 2.2k ohm on the up. And where can I get one?

are you just asking about the difficulty of putting the 2.2k oh resistor in place? it takes about 30 seconds and you could do it in your sunday picnic clothing.
the uppipe install is a different story.

so if the up-pipe is installed, it will not be a prob installing 2.2k

nope, it plugs into the wiring harness right next to the factory boost controller, next to the intake box... just pop the hood and it'll be right there.

I remember when I had to do that to my old up-pipe. Works like a charm, 30 sec tops!

Its a STi so it has no sensor bung. Do I just remove the sensor ansd put the 2.2 in to fool the computer. I have searched and I am having prob finding it. I am really anal about the check engine light.

take each end of the resistor and stick it into either side of the female connector. you can double the wire over if needed to make a good connection. then just cover it up with electrical tape or something similar and you're done.

Under the factory boost controller solenoid cover(on 02-03 models only), there is the plug that the EGT sensor connects to. You will unplug the EGT sensor at this plug and remove it from the car with the factory uppipe.
You will then plug one end of the 2.2K(2200) ohm resistor into each of the terminals if you are looking into the plug under the hood. once each end is inserted, tape up the plug with electrical tape really well, it is exposed to the elements.
That is all there is to it really.
Post up if you have any more questions.
