lightend flywheel?

im looking at an rx7 with a turbo 13b and am wondering if the 8 pound flywheel that was put on it is to light and could cause some problems.

any suggestions will help

go to rx7club.com and search around, if its a second gen hit up teamfc3s.org also.

some say the idle gets iffy with super light flywheels, but see the car running to find out if you like the idle or not. The only other problem I can see is the motor revving up faster and maybe freeing up some hp, if you think thats a problem. but the only way you can tell if it will give you problems is to see how it runs. gl joining the Rotary world =D

a friend of mine has a exedy ? i think and he hasn't had a problem with it to date almost 2yrs now but that 's his exp. not every1 will have the same exp. just my .02c

I've got the Lightweight JUN 12lb on my sr20DE (00 Infiniti G20t), the stock was 20lbs. I love it, revs much quicker. JUN also makes the UltraLight I believe which is 8lbs. I would definately not go lighter than the 12lbs because it would be not street friendly..... Remember that the motor will be rev happy on the up side, but also the negative to that is how quick rev's drop when you hit the clutch....

Actually the biggest downside is loss of rotational weight that will make it harder for you to get going from a stop, the fast rpm drop actually helps you shift in racing situations but when shifting normally on the street can drop too low if you don't shift fast..I've got the Lightweight JUN 12lb on my sr20DE (00 Infiniti G20t), the stock was 20lbs. Damn Matt didn't you just get a new truck? I see I'm late on this thread, but you shouldn't see a problem with the lightened flywheel. If its running fine with it on then it should be fine. It will benefit with quicker throttle response, boost response, and freeing up weight. The downfall is the rpm's might drop to fast and launching becomes tough, but you learn your way around it.
