Trust me, just drop it, you will be soooooooo much happier with its appearance and it should help out handling some as well. Looks good so far.

Well, I dont really have the extra $$ for a lowering kit right now...

And besides, the ability to fly over bumps and ditches is part of what makes a WRX stand above all other cars! lol

I can understand that, as I spend a lot of time in the dirt. It's also the reason I am still on stock wheels, since I didn't want to look like a monster truck.

Nice wheels though.

Exactly why I haven't lowered mine yet, also why I didn't pick up these wheels. I looked at them the day after he posted up but I thought someone else could put them to better use than me for now at least. Glad to see them on your car, they really look good! And Dave (272sWRX) is a good guy for swapping with fellow Tri-staters.

I beg to differ.

I've been offroading since I bought my car almost 100K miles ago, and havent broken anything.

of course something is going to break its a car. things on cars break everyday.. i dont think hes saying that nothing is EVER going to break.

Yeah, ask the_mike or 95nracer about jumping lower cars........my rear is absolutely dumped and i came out fine! Also, get those sideskirts painted.

~Brian~
05-26-2006, 11:11 AM
I was either gonna paint the side skirts, or just pick up a set of STi sideskirts.

But neither are high on my mod priority list right now. lol

Rims look great cleaned up. Def needs lowering. I think you can purchase painted skirts on subaruparts.com for 250$

Is is possible to take the rims somewhere to repair the curb rash?

Doubt it...

You have a better chance of blowin the trans with some turbo kit and supporting mods. You have a much better chance of blowing it on the street tryin to race and shifting hard in between gears. Now I am not saying you can't blow it in the dirt or mud, but I don't see it being to risky although I would never do it. I guess my lip kit has disabled me from ever giving my subaru a chance in the mud....

this car is sweet...but it is begging to be lowered

Looks good, definately agree about needing to be lowered but I understand the lack of cash. Painted sideskirts would also make a world of difference.

looks sweet, your on the right track with the painted skirts, and a drop would be pretty dope.

Yeah, there are quite a few rim repair specialists. Try calling body shops around you and asking them for who they use.

Thank you!

As for the sideskirts, I could probably just paint those myself, right?
And for the curb rash, how much do you think it would cost to have it fixed? I have been hearing about $75 per wheel.

272sWrx, I kinda like the rims without the center caps. Is is possible to buy something to fill in the open space between the lug nuts, becasue it looks kinda crappy with that being open.

272sWrx

Honestly i never looked into it. Are there any wheel shops around you? They might give you some input on that aspect.
