I am about to reinstall my sytem in my 04 wrx, i have two amps and two subs in a large box. I wanted to know how this weight and the power the amps need are going to affect my cars performance. I was never really worried about this b/f because i never had a performance car. I also have component front speakers but they are not that heavy. Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

yea well if u have Huge system you will notice a little power being drawin, but you shouldnt feel that much with a decent set up.. youll probably feel more with ur A/C on then anything

Any additional weight will negatively affect acceleraton, handling, ride quality and braking.

heavy subs and power draining amps will slow you down.

if your worried about the power, you can always just get a capacitator... sometimes with a system, when the subs thump hard the head light might dim. The capacitator stores energy so this doesnt happen.

i have my sub box strapped in with bungies.. so when i go to the track i pull them out in all of 5 minutes, and disconnect the power for the sub amp. then my full range amp still works so i at least have some music for the drive.
