Slow Pitch Softball Game - Sunday 5/21 - Rain or Shine!

Rain or Shine...

So I think this would be fun, just wanted to see if there was any interest. I'm thinking slow pitch softball (basically underhanded lobs) so 1) everyone can make contact and 2) those who want can try to hit bombs.
I'm talking full on teams... girls or guys, 9 on the field at a time, gloves, baserunning, the whole deal. Winners get the glory and losers have to do something embarassing that can be recorded and posted on the forum.
Doesn't have to be set up all that far in advance, lets just pick a weekend day and find a place like a school or something that will have a field open for us to use.
Everyone will be responsible for bringing a glove, and aside from that we'll just need a couple bats and a couple softballs...

sweetness, glad some people are excited. weather is looking questionable, but we're not out there to sunbathe, we're out there to play some damn softball! this event is rain or shine, and might be even more fun in the rain. its supposed to be warm regardless so i think things will be good.
anyway, bring your friends along to see if they want to come, i know i'm recruiting at least one ex-softball player so i hope we dont get beat up on too badly.

Overall it was a good day. The sun came out after a while. The field was still a bit wet but that was only a problem for muddyrex, ironically.

I ordered a fender from a dealership in maryland had my friend bring it home yesterday and teh body shop was supposed to paint/install it today and it ready by wednesday and they sent me a passenger side instead of drivers side. So the doc said it's a deep contusion, maybe a hairline fracture, for some reason
he couldn't tell from the first x-ray? He said another doc would look at the
x-ray today and they'd call if it was broken. It actually feels a little better
today so hopefulyy it's not broken. I do, however, have a great circular
bruise with lace marks

There was a doctor on the field that day. She graduated top of her college, med school and residency . She is Harvard trained in internal medicine. She worked for a year at Harvard as a doctor. The Red Sox used her hospital exclusively, lol.

She watched you get hit, watched your arm afterwards and told me she examined it, too. She said getting an x-ray was a good idea and should help prove you will be ok to pitch to George again.

Yeah, when you were trying to move it in the dugout after it happened, it didn't sound good (literally, it sounded like crackling). In case people are wondering, Bill gave George some chin music with his uber fast high-arc slow softball pitch, and George retaliated with a line drive straight back at him that hit him directly in the upper arm. Of course this happened in the first 5 min before we even started playing, so Bill didn't get to play at all. Obviously I'm kidding about the chin music, it was just one of those freak accidents that happen when you're slow pitching 45 feet away and still warming up.

Overall, it was a good time, and we definitely have to do it again. Oh, and Wil, I don't know that I actually hit it to the parking lot in the air, but I did hit one that was under George's car when we were leaving. :wiggle:
