I am pretty sure the transfer case problems are on the early years like 03's and some 04's. Evo's can take any amount of beating possible.

right on, well i'm running the 05, no known problems that i'm aware of with the 05 evo's and no way would i ever be dealing with PDTuning... lol

thanks for all the comments gentlmen and/or ladies!!

over the next month or so, you should be seeing some major improvements in my car! ;) doing a set of 280 cams, intercooler piping and the exedy twin plate clutch!! SAWEET, can't wait to hear the car all lumpy!!

I wouldn't do the HKS 280's unless you have/ or planning on a turbo size gt35 and up. If you want higher lift/duration above the HKS 272's go for the revolvers, they make much more power then the 280's.. As far as the spec clutches, I have heard nothing but bad things about their product AND customer service..If you want to stay under 1k for a clutch, the ACT 4 puck setup has been working GREAT for alot of people surprisingly, and it does utilize a sprung pressure plate..right on, well i'm running the 05, no known problems that i'm aware of with the 05 evo's and no way would i ever be dealing with PDTuning... lol

Spec clutches are trash, i have gone through 2 of them in 7 months now, never again. And the reason i went through 2 of them is because when I ordered my clutch they accidently sent me 2 of em, I was like ok cool.

I did a good amount of research on spec clutches and it seems to be hit or miss product.

i have a spec 6 puck in my swaped celica. good pedal feel and the clutch grabs like a mofo. the only thing i dont like about it, is that sometimes you can hear it chatter a little bit at idle. other then that, its great!
