I havent see a new cop car yet but the other day I was coming out onto Rhawn st. and i saw an 06 Impala just cruising on by. And i was looking at it real close and they even kept the little strip of chrome on the back bumper. I'm saying cops are just moving up.

I've seen one of the new charger cop cars around NE Philly Airport over on bluegrass ave. I didnt see a county or township or anything on it so it might be a promo vehicle. I've seen it twice now though. Looks sweet.

I think a cop on foot could catch some rigs, dude. A good percentage of them struggle to go 65. When it's something that's actually fast, they use a helicopter.

ya with the trailer on they cant get that fast but without the trailer they move real fast people dont give them credit for the power they have when not moving a load

Driving home from florida on 95 north near washington dc, a guy in what looked to be an old CRX was pulled over by 4, yes 4 mustangs. These werent like regular mustangs either. I swore one had like some sort of body kit throw on. I really wish i would of taken a picture, like some people we know here are good at from the bushes.

But the only thing to do I guess it make you cars faster than Chargers and other cars like that. right?

Fixed...

Now a couple of questions...

1. Where do you get this blatently false info?
2. Why do you feel you must share it without providing any credibility?

I'm sure I'm not the only person who gets annoyed with false drivel when spending free time roaming the forum. It's tolerable to a degree, but this is virtual thread failure.

I'll wait a while for you to post a few replies to the same thing.

I have spoken with a friend of mine who is a police occifer. He informed me there is a special phila. highway patrol unit with a slightly diff logo on the door, the numbers on the cars will begin with an "h" and the lights will be inside of the windows like out regular highway cruisers. He told me they have a few chargers now but did not know if the were a hemi or even a V8.. I still have yet to see one but one of my friends I ride with told me they have the reverse black and white colors.. These are phila. patrol cars not state..I'm sure theese guys are going to think they are all "high and mighty" now and be just itching to pull over any car that looks fast hoping for a chase.

that sucks that they are using common cars now that arent as obvious, its gonna be easier toget pulled over

I've seen these "common cop cars" actually instigating wreckless behavior behind the wheel (i.e. pushing people into street racing). If I ever get pulled over by a completely unmarked "civilian" vehicle:

1) I will not be as likely to stop if I see a completely unmarked Mustang/Celica (as seen in MD), and good luck to them catching me. They aren't identifying themselves as being officers by driving a completely different car, so I'm more likely to play the whole "thought you were impersonating a cop" routine. I've seen people with blue/red lights who flash them to get through traffic.

2) In the absence of a marked car, you are more likely to speed. By purposely removing a marked car for a completely unmarked civilian car, that's as good an entrapment case as I can think. "Because they purposely deceived me into believing that I was not in the presence of an officer, I behaved in a manner that I normally would not have" type deal. Far fetched argument, but it might fly in court. Remember, the police department went out of their way by purchasing a different make, model, and color than standard to specifically deceive people, so that's the defense they'll get from me: deceived and entrapped.

So bring on teh civilian cars... :P

i agree with you 110% however i gaurentee when you tell the judge that, he will jus come back at you stating you shouldnt do it wether there is a cop there or not. I saw this thing on like "real tv" or "insane videos" or something where in california there would be people dressed as construction workers acting like they are doind construction whereas they are really sittin there with radar guns and radio'in ahead to cops. When people would go and fight that the judge ruled that the civilian should not have been speeding wethere there is a construction worker, a cop or even if no one is there. But again i agree with youy i do believe that could be considered entrapment (to us)

they have been using the ls1 camaros for a while now- the police package is called "B4C" and a few guys on ls1tech.com have them, bought after the car was retired from police work. im thinking mostly in the midwest/south though.
