On a more serious note, not that the above wasn't serious, if you work for an employer who knowingly hires illegals, take off on May 5th while the iron is hot. Boycott mexican(I know they're not the only illegals) goods, businesses, and businesses that knowingly hire illegal aliens.
How about we show the illegals that they do not make the american economy go 'round.

consider that english is worldy recognized as the language of commerce and trade. The majority of countries that do not speek english, and have business with english speaking countries, as a first language, teach english in schools as part of a mandatory curriculum.
Yes, China is pushing to make chinese the "language of trade" but that isn't going to happen. This is a english speaking world. But not because of America.
And while english is not an official language of america (who are we kidding, it should be recognized as such) those coming to america (like Eddie Murphy) should learn english.

This is specific to LA, but I'm sure there are similar statistics available for other popular immigrant states like TX, AZ, and FL.
1. 40% of all workers in L.A. County (L.A. County has 10 million
people) are working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because
they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green
card.
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal
aliens.
4. Over 2/3's of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien
Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are
Mexican nationals here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in
garages.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most
likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in L.A. are Spanish speaking.
10. In L.A.County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak
Spanish (10.2 million people in L.A.County).
(All 10 from the Los Angeles Times)
Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops but 29% are on
welfare.
http://www.cis.org/
Over 70% of the United States annual population growth (and over 90% of
California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration.
The cost of illegal immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was a
NET (after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) $70 BILLION a year,
[Professor Donald Huddle, Rice University].
The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the
average adult Mexican immigrant is a NEGATIVE
29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

Consider that out of the millions of United States citizens who are living in foreign countries, under 10% learn that countries language.
This fact strongly contributes to the negative world image of the US. It is inconsiderate, no matter what country you are in, to not be able to have a semi-working use of the native language. This goes even for countries that share a form of a language (IE: UK/US, Spain/Mexico).
Boarder security should be a high concern for a number of reasons. Realise that much of the violence at the boarder is the result of Mexican gangs, or the Mexican Army. It is hardly a turky shoot of criminals running across the sand with targets on them. While it is easy to sit here and scream 'blast em!', it is much different for the people whose land is on the boarder. It isn't a matter of putting up a fence, its a matter of military vehicles carrying armed soldiers tresspassing on your land. The US army cannot simply open fire, as doing so will start a series of reactions. Private citizens, mostly with military or paramilitary training, work with these land owners to help protect them, but this is a band aid.
The problem with illegal workers starts with the fact that companies are simply not held accountable, and that agencies within the govt. cannot work together. I read an article last week that stated even though a company had over 25% off its staff not file taxes, the IRS was unable to use this info to launch an investigation into the companies employment practices. This is compounded by the fact that no siff penalty has been dealt to a company that has exploited illegal labor.
I could go on...but I long for a sammich.

Lets face the facts.... we are all offspring of immigrants. My great-grandparents came from Poland, Germany, and Ireland in search of a better life. They all worked the coal mines in NE PA and were relentless in learning the American way.
The people coming in now have no desire to speak our language or help our economy. They come in and take cash paying jobs and take the money back to their own country.
A buddy of mine is a pool builder. He asked me why I never recommend his services to my customers? It's simply because of his illegal 'employees'. I can't send business that way.

I know what the .50 is for. I have extensive experience with a variety of weapons, like the M2, the M60, the M249, the MK19, the TOW, etc. If you just hit an arm or leg, it will likely remove that for them and they'll bleed out.
My suggestion is of course in addition to my earlier suggestion of using claymores.

I agree, if they dont do anything wrong, then they should be left alone, but if they commit a felony, they should be deported, rather then be put in jail.
I dont want to sound judmental or catagorize, but alot of the spanish decendents really do make the world go round. They do all of the jobs that none of want to do. If anyone has ever worked in the hospitality field, you know that there is not 1 restaurant in the entire United States without an illegal immigrant working there. Not 1. In a crude way, they do all of our dirty work.

Yea, I have no problems with the legal ones. It's the ones that sneak under the fence and gang rape some poor girl in LA that should be shot dead in the street.
My dad has owned his landscaping business for close to 30 years and just within the past three months hired three Puerto Rican guys. These guys are hard working dudes, they are all legal, have all their paperwork in order, pay their taxes and are decent guys. If anyone of those qualities was missing, they wouldn't be working for us.

See, its not that americans DONT want to do the jobs, we will, its that they will do the same work ALOT cheaper. As american citizens you pay taxes, regardless of which manner you are paid, under the table, check, or a combination of both, you cant escape it. So we demand a higher hourly, read min wage, than they do. Also, as an american citizen you have certain luxuries that arent afforded to illegals that cost employers money. If you, a citizen, get hurt on the job the employer normally has to pay for your med bills, workmans comp laws. If you hire mainly illegals, you will pay much less in this insurance because they dont have the same rights, so they arent a part of the workforce as far as the insurance company is concerned.
As far as you not having a problem sharing some of your freedoms with them. Go down to New Mexico, Texas or some of the other areas of large illigal populations. Go into an emergency room, a jail, a public school or try and have a baby. In some of these areas hospitals cant afford to stay open because the local tax payers cant foot the bill to keep them operational, they are flooded with sick illigals. There are many places that you simply cant find a hospital to deliver a baby because immagrants come across to have their baby in the us so its a legal citizen and dont have a dime to pay. The same situation is happening in schools and jails. With the jail thing, you cant simply send them back, if you did that they would just come back across in another area.
Another prob is they are stealing peoples social security numbers. These people who are illigals but get fake credentials do pay some into the tax system, but not enough to cover the non-paying population. But the problem is they are using a citezens social security number. How stoked would you be if you found out, if the house passes the bill alowing the IRS to inform you, that upwards of 50 people were using your social?
We are all immagrants yes, but we all pay our taxes, for the most part, and support the system. They take our jobs, my dad is an interior decorator, alot of people he knows have had a hard time finding work because illigals will do the work for MUCH less than their american counterpart.

You are forgetting a key word -- ILLEGAL.
: not according to or authorized by law : UNLAWFUL, ILLICIT; also : not sanctioned by official rules
all of us are immigrants, but not all of us chose not to come to the US through legal means..

If you are a legal american you should be upset by the protests then. You and your family are paying for people who dont want to abide by the rules of our land. Every other civilized country has rules for entering the country, is America not supposed to have them? Everyone here is an immagrant, but weather it was you or a previous generation they all came into this country and became part of the system that keeps it running. I understand that they simply want to provide a better life, thats what we all want. But our country is built on laws, if you do not choose to follow them you are a criminal. If you walked into my house, thats breaking and entering, same thing with our country. If you want to come here do it the legal way. There are people who have been waiting in other countries for up to 25 years to become a citizen, just because we share a boarder we are supposed to give them special treatment?

That's the thing that I find the most amusing about this whole thing. The protests are backfiring on them. They're pissing off a lot of people. Brings to mind a favorite old phrase; "If you're standing on thin ice, don't jump up and down."
They're also going about this all wrong. If you want to show your love of the U.S., and that you want to become a permanent resident here, why the f**k are you waving Mexican flags? How exactly does that show you love the U.S.?

As I recall, many years ago, Puerto Rico opted not to become a official state.
However, we aren't talking about people from a commonwealth of the US coming into the states. We are talking about people from a different country, that has no other connection to us except by geography, ILLEGALLY entering and are expecting to be protected by our laws.

It's the one's that jump the border illegally and demand citizenship and rights that everyone is talking about. The asian and european folks aren't complaining about anything, 'cause most of them are LEGAL.

Perhaps because there are an assload more of them, because they can simply walk across the border. It's kinda tough to swim thousands of miles to sneak into FL.
