What's everyone's though on the NSX I love the 97 NSX when they came out with the new rims, 3.2 litre engine, 6 speed, BUT they kept the pop up headlights. I was reading some articles and stuff about it and I really like this comment "It's like a ferrari except engineered by people that went to college"

Uhh what happened...my parents (I was 14 or 15 when the offer came up) didn't want to help me get the money to buy it form the lady.
It needed all new seals and fluids...it had been sitting for a few years.
So this d-bag bought it, ripped the lady off HARDCORE, got it running, was romping on it on his way home to Jersey...BLEW the headgasket...paniced from the sound going of behind his head...and wrecked it off a speed circle around a tree or a pole or something.
THAT'S what happened.
If I ever see that dude...he's gettin rocked in the skull.

:rotfl: did you even check insurance for the car when you were that old?
when I was 18, a used nsx would have cost me $8000/6months

Nah thats too much for a 91/92...You can find them a lot cheaper if you know whee to look, like down in the low 20's

I hadn't looked into insurance. I had gotten the car to run...and wanted it.
It wouldn't of been driving for atleast another 3 years from then anyways...

NSX's are sweeet man. Def try to get one with the 6speed trans tho. I drove one not long ago with the 5speed and it was nice - but just felt like i wanted to slap it into another gear on the highway.
And if the pop-up headlights bother you, there are a few companies out there selling 02+ Front clips so you can convert them over.
Check nsxprime.com for some cool pics, info, and guys selling NSX's. This might give you an idea on what they are going for and what type of options you want/can afford.
I REALLY hope you get one! hahaha

I'm already on NSXprime they sell there NSX's for too high, they want like 35k for a 91. 97 started 6 speed 3.2 liter engine I'd love to get one of those but I'd just really like to find a 93+ since 93 is when the stickshift models came with power steering

i think the NSX is the hottest looking car for under 90k brand new; the new burnt orange color is so hawt, although if i was to buy one i wouldnt buy a brand new one because they drop in value DRAMATICALLY over the span of 2 or 3 years. But deffinately one of my favorite cars

So you would spend 1-200g's on a car and be worried about gas bills? :rotfl:

Nice car, it's about ten years old and people still stare at it.
That's staying power.

I've heard of Ferraris having a reputation of not running well during weather that isn't above 75 degrees and sunny.

I'm thinking realistically.
I have the possibility of owning an NSX before a Ferrari.
Besides, I have never been a fan of the Italian super-cars.

I almost had a white 91' for 30 a few years ago. Then I called my insurance company.
Flip-up headlights are where it's at.

If anyone has old issues of Import Tuner, my buddy was in the Oct 03' issue with his red one (91').

Italian car. Italian climate.
i'll say it differently, then. ferrari>acura.
I mean, the NSX is a great car, don't get me wrong. But a Ferrari is a Ferrari.

Its just a matter of different personal taste and preferences.
Am I the only one who doesn't like the NSX at all? If handed one I'd so sell it in a heart beat.
For the price of one brand new a few years ago, I could think of a lot better things to do with that kind of money.

For the price of a new one I would buy a Viper or Z06 well before an NSX

Exactly. $90k for a v6 less than 300hp car? I just can justify spending that kind of money from something like that.

90 grand but you can pick up a 97 for like 45 and know you can sell it for 40k with 100k miles while the 360 modena you can pick up for 130k now but that thing would be a dinosaur if it went over 15k miles.
I know cause I go to ferrari gatherings lol

Maybe, but my original problem still stands. Even worse actually. #1, I wouldn't pay 45K for a 1997 car. #2, its even less powerful then the new model...so again...that much money...for that kind of engine? I dunno, maybe its me but I just dont see it.

For 90 I'd have an Ariel Atom and a Sky Redline
You can find '99 Modenas for about $105-110k now with upwards of 20k miles on them. Ferrari's don't depreciate with age, just mileage :P
I'm hoping that in a few years the 360 Challenge (2003/2004) will come down from the $180k used range. Hopefully by then I'm settled into a house enough to afford anything let alone one of those beasts...

nsx is one of my all time favorite cars, but if i was spending that kind of cash, ide rather build a lotus exige with ITB k20

I've driven a Lotus, I'd rather not have a car that needs me to sweat to get into the thing lol.
True that 45k for a 97 is a little high but it's an NSX, people are still paying 30k for the ferrari 308 which is from the 80's and with only 250hp from a v8.
