Coroner doesn't suspect foul play. He was naked except for socks and shoes, and only had scracthes on his lower legs from walking in the wooded area by the firehouse.

Good try though, man-jammer.

Bucks County detectives are investigating the death of a man whose body was found Thursday morning, dressed only in socks and sneakers, in Oxford Valley County Park in Falls.

The body of John J. Connors, 42, of Morrisville was found behind the Fairless Hills Fire Co. station on Hood Boulevard between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., county Coroner Dr. Joseph Campbell said.

Foul play has been ruled out in Connors' death, the coroner added. The body showed no signs of serious injury, only scratches on his legs that investigators believe were caused by his walking in a wooded area near the spot where he died, District Attorney Diane Gibbons said. Detectives searched the woods and found a denim shirt, a pair of black pants and the man's driver's license, Gibbons said.

An autopsy at Doylestown Hospital confirmed that Connors' body showed no trauma, Campbell said. A cause of death won't be determined until after investigators have the results from blood tests, the coroner said, noting an investigation would also determine if Connors had suffered from hypothermia.

Connors worked locally and had been last seen alive about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Campbell said.

A Fairless Hills Fire Co. member discovered the body and notified Falls police. Connors was found lying face down in the grass.

County detectives were called because the body was on county-owned property, about 40 feet from the edge of the firehouse parking lot, about 30 feet from the shore of Lake Caroline and about 15 feet from the woods.

Workers from the two buildings that have a back view of the park property said they didn't see any suspicious activity before the body was found.

The finding attracted about 40 onlookers. Many sat or stood on the grassy hillside beside the Oxford Valley pool. Investigators held up a sheet to shield the man's body from view.

County Chief Deputy Coroner Keith Preston and the investigators removed the body about 2:15 p.m.

"I think this is going to come down to blood work," Gibbons said about clues to the man's death. "It sounds to us like this is going to be a sad story."
