ff6's are really nice. one thing to consider is that motegi's are usually a pretty heavy rim, might want to check into their weight before buying. rotational mass is a factor....

You should check out the Grids SubyDude has. They are also a six spoke design. The Boosts are nice too since ADVAN RG's are soooo pimp.

or you could by mine.... ;)

Try and fight a weight on any wheel before you buy. A few pounds may not seem like much, but 15-20lbs of unsprung rotational mass makes a HUGE difference in the performance of your car. Personally, I loved the look of the G-games 77wolf on my old wrx. For a low cost solution, I say look into a set of Rota's or start spying the private for sale forums for a good used deal. You have all winter to buy the wheels, so no rush.

thanks all
yeah i have checked out alot of rims lately and rotas are top on my list even the grids
The reason for the motegi's is the nice lip they give. shinny!
that and because i can get a good deal on em'

in no rush realy, just looking for some input

>>anyone have motegi's or know of anyone who has a set???

You can get rotas with a polished lip. Check out www.oakos.com for some pretty good rota deals. Thats where I'll be getting mine.

basically i want to be a little different that most
I do understand that Rotas are a very good name but i want to try something a little different

and the prices at oakos are similar to subydude

Check these (http://discounttiredirect.com/direct/findProductCategoryDetailBrnd.do?tpc=GGAWO1&tp=Car %2FMinivan) out. They rocked on my wrx.

I still have them actually, and may be looking to sell them if i can get the one llip fixed (repeat after me: Azenis ST-115's are not a snow tire)

Did some research on the weights

So far nothing for the Motegi's

as for the Rotas
>Grids = 18lbs
>Tarmac II's = 20.20 Lbs.

and the stockers weigh about 16.5lbs

dam unsprung
>i want function over form!

any other wheels??
NOT TOO EXPENSIVE PLEASE. thanks

can't afford one!

found some answers as to the weights of the wheels
FF6 (painted) 17"=19lbs. 18"=wheel not offered in 18"

DPK (chrome) 17"=23lbs. 18"=25lbs.

DP6 (painted) 17"=21lbs. 18"=22.5lbs.

(yeah, i'm overjoyed) so much for the Allentown meet this weekend

I know your pain

My accident (http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=474205) last year on Clifmas eve.

It ended up costing the insurance company $11,500 to fix the car, and $2,100 for me to drive a rental car for 75 days. It was the most frustrating ordeal I have ever been in.

Let me give you some advice.

First, the car has a rear sub frame, which may or may not be damaged. Looking at the car, it is possible there may also be damage to the floor pan. If so, you will have about the same list of repairs I did, plus what ever he borked around the wheel area.

Second, from reading your thread, i see your uncle owns a shop. I would *highly* reccomend that before he starts any work, you get a second estimate that is consistant with the estimate that he will submit to the responsable parties insurance. This is a quick CYA in the event they insinuate that anything less than legitimate is going on.

KBB lists the retail value of a 2003 WRX at 21,300. That is crazy, I think I paid less for my new '03 in march of '03 just as the '04s where hitting. I got $18k for trade in on my car, in may of last year. Find out what the paying parties insurance considers a total loss. Find out what they value the vehicle at. The estimate on my car went from 8k to 11k as they took it apart, and that was being hit square in the rear.

I doubt you will need it, but i have my detail listing of what they replaced from my accident, if you need it.

Oh, and don't do an '04 rear converstion...I think the '03 rear, with the factory body kit looks bad-ass.
