Cars that are impossible to find in good condition.

I have noticed that it is 99% impossible to find the following:
Manual eclipse GSX/GSt
Manual tsi Talon
Manual 240sx
99-00 Si
Manual Integra GSR
a good condition mid to late 90's manual Civic
5spd Prelude
sw20 MR2
CRX Si
RX7


It feels like the tuner market has ruined so many of these cars because kids love pepboys and autozone that it is almost impossible to find one that is both well kept, and a manual. High miles aside every example I find has either been loaded by some kid with pepboys parts, very beat on, or both. It makes it really hard to find a casual project that just needs a little bit of work and can still be a great/fun daily. Nearly everything I have found needs thousands to either body, drive-train, or both to get them just to a decent state that wouldn't be embarrassing and would be reliable.

These cars are rare to find NOW in good condition, never mind when our generation is in their 50-60's and wanting to try and bid on them at auctions because they were "cool when we were young".

Grant it, I'm in my 30's now, but it should not be so hard to find a car that was cool when I was in high school (14yrs ago) and only needs a little maintenance.

Very nice. There are a lot here that take pride in their rides, but there are SO many that don't, just ruin them.

I'd love to get very good condition SH then put in a stock Bluetop. I just want a fun daily with no flair.

It's only going to get worse. Imagine trying to find a gvr-4 nowadays. Sadly some of these cars were not taken care of and were wrecked/scrapped/rotting away in someones driveway "being built." Supras has eclipsed the 40k mark for one.

It'll be another 5 years probably but we'll have another flow of "good" modifiable cars.

Installing a factory H23a vtec would mean removing the ATTS unit, basically making the SH into a base. Unless you're just in it for the paint matched body trim, non 3rd brake light filled deck and curtesy lights :cool:


But I agree, just did that exact swap to a friends green base 5g with most of the SH goodies. It's rough around the edges body wise, but i'd take it over my 08 si as far as fun semi clean daily goes.
