Finally said goodbye to my V. Ended up trading for a new Stingray. I've always been a Vette fan and have been drooling over the Stingray since it's debut.

Stock for stock it feels every bit as fast as my (mostly stock) V. Though the build quality is worlds better. Although not creak/sqeak free it's a big improvement over the plastic on plastic center console in the V. That thing creaked loudly on every turn.

I got the cabin has so much tech, it's like configuring the HUD on a racing game...so many options...

I don't post a lot here but wanted to share my excitement with the group!

Beautiful car congrats! Were you able to pay a sane amount for it? (no need to list dollar figure if you don't want to) I just know that dealers have been marking these up like crazy. Definitely needs a proper photo shoot... especially of that red interior

Thanks for the kind words. Yeah, if I'm not mistaken the dealers are over marking them up. I paid 5k under MSRP for mine from a local dealer. Kerbeck offers similar discounts as well since they are a volume dealer.

The Z06's on the other hand- I'm sure once they hit show rooms early next year they'll be marked up at smaller dealers with lower volume allotment.

I thought the V was a more rare car than the Vette but the Vette seems to draw attention and conversations everywhere. Maybe until the public gets used to seeing them like the C6's and C5's. :P

Btw I'll definitely take some better pics. I want to lower it on stock bolts and upgrade the wheels first.

Thanks Shipman. I'm going to try and upgrade the wheels, & suspension before the winter. THEN...I'll be ready for some pics. Thank you regardless!

Yeah that would be my first go to as well. Id get something along the lines of Avant Garde M510 wheels with a nice drop and some small lip addition.

Nice Stingray ! They look ohh soo good in white, my neighbor actually has a white Stingray aswell. Only his wheels are more of an aluminum type over the chrome (which personally I like better), but Ohh mann that red interior is HOTT!!

Love the 7spd choice as always, nice choice! My neighbors already has an aftermarket exhaust on it, and that is a must!!

It's pretty amazing how much nicer the Stingray is over the outgoing C6. Such a great looking car.

Loving the color and the headlights bro!

Thanks guys. Yeah I'm already a Vette fan despite the outgoing C6's aweful interior- so I'm over the moon over the new one! The chassis feels a light more rigid, and it's steering tracks so sharply- similar to an S2000.

Car is beautiful from every angle but I can't get used to the squinty looking back for some reason, maybe I need more time. Congrats on the pickup, these sound awesome with exhausts on them

Thanks gentlemen. I just lowered it and got my black Z51 wheels on for winter and blacked out the chrome "retainer" in front grill, as well as all the reflectors (not pictured).

I plan on doing the carbon fiber splitter and sill extensions as well as the Corsa Xtreme exhaust. Then, maybe, in the spring an ESC supercharger. Doing headers, intake, and tune don't yield as much power as they do with the C5/C6. So rather than plunking down 4k on all that I'll spend a few thousand more and go FI.

This thing must be an animal to begin with... and you want more power?! :-p How does it feel compared to the V? I'm sure the handling is night and day, but does it feel slower in straight line acceleration? How are you liking the 7 speed?

I'd say it's every bit as fast as the V but much MUCH more nimble feeling. It isn't traction inhibited as much as the V, due to the V's comparatively narrow rear wheels. The handling improvement is dramatic especially after swapping for the Z51 sway bars. It's so neutral in turns. However, I've yet to see over 1.0gs in the turns simply because I'm too afraid to push it that far on the street. In other words I've never reached it's limits.

That said, my wife bought me tuition to the Spring Mountain Corvette performance driving school in Vegas for Christmas. It's a 3-day event thats starts in the classroom on day one and takes you through all sorts of performance driving instruction. By the end you are alone in the Vettes doing hot laps with your coach talking you through your braking distances and lines. I can't wait! I'm sure I'll be able to experience something closer to the limits of the stock Stingray.

In all honestly since I last posted that I've really thought hard about it and may not be going FI on the car. It would be for bragging rights more than actual use. I'd have to run slicks on the street to avoid blowing the tires away in most gears. Maybe just headers and a tune, since the tune can make the car "feel" way more powerful by removing all the inhibitive torque management on the stock ECU.
