Here is a concept drawing leak from earlier today posted by a Mazda product engineer. Expect it to look similar to this.

The front looks similar to the 2004 Mazdaspeed MX-5.

The back looks similar to an Alfa Romeo. Mazda is sharing their platform with Alfa Romeo for the Alfa Romeo Spyder.

Someone on the miata forums say they called a Mazda dealership in Florida and that dealership claims it will come with a 1.5L and 2.0L with the 6 speed MT only being offered in the higher trim. Lower trim at 5 Spd MT or auto.

We will learn the truth in less than 5 hours.

No word on powertrain yet. But it now has electric steering and standard LED headlights and tail lights.
16 and 17" wheel options.

Oh, and the trunk has more depth to it. You can fit slightly taller boxes now.

Several Sources say two options will be available:
1.5L (140hp) and 2.0L (180hp), 6 Spd MT.

No confirmation from Mazda yet.

I didn't see anyone mention that they've announced it'll be 200lbs lighter than the current model.

Why is that important? Well for one it makes the Miata 500lbs lighter then a BRZ....and close to the same horsepower if it is 180hp.

Just shy of 200hp in a car that weighs 2200 lbs will be pretty fun! Probably similar to an S2k. You won't be winning any drag races but finally the Miata will feel like it can get out of it's own way without the help of forced induction or a v8!
