recently totaled my car and i feel as i will not get enough for the value of the car because the market is pretty high with sti. does anyone know if i can argue the amount if i feel it is not fair?

for example say i get 30k from them and a replacement car still got forsale at a price of 37k. am i able to make that argument that i need more money to buy a replacement in that price range.?

Was the car modified? If so, did the insurance know it was modified? Sometimes that plays a part in the outcome of the price after the car has been totaled. To my knowledge the price isnt up for discussion but if you continue to pester them they may wiggle a little just to keep the customer service rate high.

What about mileage? Because a brand new car will have way less. And is your car the newest model?

So what would you ask them for? To pay for a 2015? Or another 2012 with around the same mileage?

Bull****... Theyre in it for a quick close of the claim... The longer you dispute it, the more the payout will be.

I had a prelude totaled and they first offered me 2k for it when I had just paid 4k for the car. It was over bull**** like there was no radio installed, when I pulled it out before it would go to the junkyard because I knew it would get stolen. Anyhow, I denied their offers for weeks and then the ended up giving me the value of the highest prelude for sale in the area... More than I paid for the car in the first place.

just provide them evidence that the price they are giving you is to low...when i totaled my first g20 (when they were new) they only wanted to give me about 15 for it, I withheld the car from them at a buddies garage, & i kept fighting with them for about 2 months until they gave in..I also parted out many of the parts on the car.

when they finally came & got the car....the inspector guy was like....wtf...I cant sell this at auction... my response was....Oh well thats not my fault. you only paid me 18.5 for the car, i had to part out my parts (semi built motor, other goodies) to recoupe my money...

they never said anything else about it..

which led me to belive that a insurance company has no legal right to your car if its totaled. They only talk a big game, but in the end, if you get your money & part it out, they cant do ****
