I do know that it is a good to have a relatively flat surface for cops to get your speed. Also easier for license plate readers. When I used to live out in California, I know they were really fanatical about it, as with other states. But if you had a high end car, cops did not bother because if you're a heavy hitter enough to have an awesome whip. But yes, you can also go as far as saying it will improve gas mileage in addition to what they already stated.

i haven't had one on my car in years. cops bird-dog me occasionally and every so often pull me over.

Same here - no front plate (+ tinted front windows) and no hassles here. Been a few years now 3+. I did email them though.

Geez lucky you I used to get pulled over once a week for not having a front plate along with my tints 20% all around

Did you keep your plate up on the dash behind the windshield? If so that usually invites cops to pull you over.

Also 20% tint is pretty dark IMO. I'm only 35% all around and it's easily see through during the day so I get some slack.

I have always had front plates (yes, it's annoying and I hate it) but the ONE time my friend took his off, he only got about a day before getting pulled over. Then again I grew up in Brick where the cops had NOTHING to do, so I used to get pulled over at LEAST 3-5 times per WEEK for my tint. For some reason they never gave me tickets, but I had a glove box FULL of warning, lmao. Hopefully this bill gets put up and passes, because a front plate is just ugly.
