My friend found the whole new CD somewhere online. I've never listened to them before, so I've been listening a little bit, and they sound pretty effing good. Another band that's been around but I've just never listened to.

Definately going to try to get tickets to this. I have seen them twice and both times kicked ass.

It will be a challenge getting tickets to this show. Small venue and band that hasn't toured in a while = tough time.
They put on an OK show, sound really good, but not much on theatrics.

Where did you see them? When I saw them at Madison Square Garden it was insane. They had a hugh screen behind them playing crazy stuff and people painted blue hanging on ropes from the celing doing some crazy Cirque Du Soleil style stuff. Maynard does like to hide behind everyone else during the show though. I read somewhere he gets stage fright or something.

I think I saw the same show but in Hershey, PA. Opening band was the worst ever. I damaged my troat booing them as did many others:mad: . I've never seen a band play a couple chords really fast, stop, then beat on a double kick drum and then scream "yayayayayay" loud and call it a song. Tool's opening band did this for 8 straight songs and was hit by about 20 water bottles.
Maynard was only visable behind some sort of blind and all you could see was his shadow. The stunts on the ropes were fantastic. I just wish I could see more of who is actually behind the songs. Their timing is impecable and it is obvious that they practice a ton as their songs are very complex and easy to screw up live, but they don't miss a beat. I don't know how their drummer remembers any of their songs as it just seems he is hitting random drums with no pattern when you see him live. He has the biggest drum set I've ever seen, even a gong behind him.

booing bands is never cool no matter how much they suck.

Yep, I remember the name now. Is anyone actually a fan of this band? and was I the only one who thought WTF?:jawdrop: This is the worst band ever (not an exaggeration at all) At least the people on open mic night have day jobs. These guys are "professionals":rotfl:
Just fo ****s, download some songs on your favorite sharing program.
I will hopfully see some of you guys at the concert.

"My recipe for a Fantômas song is this: get the most random combination of musical and sampled bits and pieces, throw them all in a mixer, and mangle them up until they retain no musical qualities whatsoever. Every time I started to see some half decent bit coming together – a nice atmospheric few seconds or something – something entirely random sprouts up and dashes whatever hopes I might have had.
- The asylums have opened
What's my summing up of the Fantômas album? Well – it's random, it has little or no musical merit, and, well – I can discern more musical qualities from the white noise between radio stations. I hate being quite so scalding about an album, but there's not much nice I can say about this – there simply aren't any good parts. I admire Patton for his adventurousness, but this is an album I don't think should ever have been made – another California (Mr. Bungle) would have been much more appreciated. Thanks, but no thanks."
This is one of my favorite reviews of Fantomas
Music always doesnt have to flow properly.. its off timing and random. I'm not a huge fan, but I always found the music interesting. I also liked them, because it's the drummer from slayer :P
It's just a different attempt at music. I'm sure Mike Patton doesn't give a damn if you like it or not... even though I'd rather of seen Meshuggah open, like they did a few shows on that Lateralus tour.

I elect to disagree with you here. Music MUST be more than just a random collection of sounds, it must flow, it must have a melody. Look no further than rap as proof of this. The "good" (I know you can argue if there is any good rap) has melody. "All bout da Benjamins" does not count. Music must have a melody to be considered music, although a ton is still sold without one. This is why I can't just collect random sounds I make with instruments and sell it, because it sucks and is unlisten-able. I can't play or make music because I am untalented like fantomas, just they were able to convince a few key people that they are the "high art" of music. BS.
Tool is still one of my favorite bands

I don't like rap. Fantomas is just more of a joke band anyway... you should just try lightening up. Mike Patton hasn't ever really done anything "normal" anyway.

WTF tickets were only$60 if two tickets were $1200 that would be like a 1000% markup:screwy: :screwy:
I saw them at the sovereign bank arena a few years ago and i had no problems getting tickets for that show. Hopefully when they get back from Europe they will do some more American dates

There was surely something fishy about this. I was able to get NIN tix last time doing the same. All the tickets on EBAY just proves it that this was a huge scam. I doubt that ANY tickets were sold through ticketmaster.com.

Ya. I was actually able to get 2 tickets. So was my friend and her fiance! I am really excitied because of my longevity as a TOOL fan and never seeing them live. Supposedly they are just doing this small venue tour, going to Europe, then coming back around to bigger venues.
We actually thought about selling our tickets because of how much they were being resold for...but..its TOOL...its their new album..and I am beyond stoked!
