Drove out to Cherry Springs and snagged a few shots.. Totally worth the drive!

All shot with Nikon D600 with Nikon 14-24 2.8

Funny you posting these. I'll be up there in a couple weeks. Great shots. I can just hope for clear skies when I visit.

Great pics, Blue32.

I'm an amateur astronomer so I'm always looking at sky photos but I never get tired of seeing nice new ones like these. The lightning strike from Belmont Plateau is awesome!

Thanks... I got super super lucky I just kept an eye on the weather and the Moon phase and took a chance... I really scored .. Its a super long drive and I would have been pissed if I taken it for nothing !

My in-laws live ~35 minutes away from there. I plan on staying at their house for a few days if the weather looks good.

awesome shots and the lightning one is GREAT! what was your iso/f/spd for number 3 if you dont mind me asking iv never been able to get the much light with out some movement.

Thanks.. #3 was 3200 ISO, 20 seconds @ F4

Going up to a buddies cabin with some friends in Tioga next weekend... too bad it'll be full moon.
