I am trying to decide if I need to buy gauges or not. If I do, I would like to get Autometer Cobalt's.

Look in my garage to see my current setup and let me know you think I need them or not.

Thanks!!!

Yeah, they are freakin sweet. A friend of mine has a set in dashboard pod and it looks pretty nice. Personally, I like the look of the piller gauges.

A/F is a Lightshow. Better off getting like Water temp or Oil Temp. EGT and yes oil pressure is a gauge

no boost? im assuming the only reason you wouldnt get boost is because you have the factory boost gauge, if so, i would highly reccomend getting an aftermarket boost gauge. an aftermarket gauge usualy reads more accuratly than the stock one.
when it comes to AFR; unless you plan on getting a wideband AFR, the gauge is simply a light show as stated above. and unless you plan on tuning your car yourself with a utec or streetuner, u wont be able to do much with the info that you read on the gauge.

for gauges my personnal opinion is:
1st: Boost
2nd: EGT
3rd: oil temperature
4th: oil or fuel pressure

personally i don't think that u have 2 buy gauges, but the cobalts would look really nice.

Or you can buy the narrow band A/F and convert it to a wide band... ;) Which is what im doing. because yeah lol

defi? anyone hear of them? hahhaa

and 1 boost
2. egt
3. A/f ratio

but this all depends on what you have done to your car,

ALSO, water and oil temp gauges, uh? wanna just give me your money? that is the biggest waste.

aside from what type of gauges are needed and the style, the electric gauges are really expensive (like around $200) but the mechanical gauges are far far less($65) im assuming the eletrical are more accurate, are mechanical gauges still as good?

A/F is a Lightshow.
+1

A/F is a waste of time money and pillar space. If you really want to know what's going on, get a wideband. AEM UEGO is the way to go.

Sidenote: EGT and A/F would be ****ing pointless to have both.

EGT measures that, EGT which in terms measures A/F ratio.

I say leave them both out and get wideband.

Personally, i dont dig autometer gauges whatsoever. I have an Omori Multicolor boost gauge......best of both worlds...its japanese and reads PSI, it has peak hold, and can be changed to any color in the spectrum. Just my .02

Just to give my input, someone mentioned glow shift, i liek them a lot, do not have yet but on ebay they are cheap for example: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/96-97-98-99-00-CIVIC-TRIPLE-PILLAR-POD-3-TINTED-GAUGE_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ46100QQitemZ46363 75635QQrdZ1
Not to mention they are tinted which looks awesome. How much u think instalation would be for a pillar and 3 gauges?
