Does anybody know what a good starting place for engine mods might be for a 2000 era Volvo? There's a ton of stuff I would like to do but I'm not too sure on where to start or where to even look (Except for IPD, I see a lot of volvos sporting IPD parts and decals.) Was thinking about getting a cold air intake as the first mod but I'm not too sure how useful that would be on a 4 cylinder with a low pressure turbo. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey Frosted.
pics of car!!!
iPD is a good source.
i think Eurosport Tuning might have some stuff for your car as well.
For oem stuff use tascaparts.com
stage "0" is always best prior to performace mods. make sure car is running good, plugs, oil change, suspension, brakes....
for mods...airflow is always a good 1st step. bigger downpipe with hi-flow cat, sport cat back, intake.
tune is always the biggest gain for turbo cars. with tune you also may want to upgrade your fmic.
suspension mods...springs or coilovers.
check out swedespeed for some other v40 specific info.

I've got an old set of wheels from my first car that, after some touching up, would look great and I've found a few engine upgrades. Stage 0 was pretty much taken care of by the dealer so that should be good to go. One thing I've noticed is that there really isn't a big market for an old v40.

Very nice! I looked into getting a P1 S40 before I bought my 850. So I read a bit about performance. I believe that the 14t from the LPT S60's will be a direct fit, and is a good upgrade. Not sure who makes exhausts for them. Also start with silicone IC hoses. Again like he mentioned, stage 0 before any upgrades. Upsolute is pretty popular with them as far as tunes I believe.

I would find a Volvo performance specific forum also.
Larger knowledge base from other members would be helpful.
