anyone good with taxes?
I have til April 17th to refile my 2003 taxes. I forgot to add my lifetime learning credit that year, which would get me like a $2,000 refund.
I can't find what form I need to fill out to do this. Any ideas?

Irs.gov
-or-
Google "Life Time Learning Credit" if you are past Fresh/Soph year. If you are a Frosh/Soph then research "Hope Credit"
James you are retarded you know I do taxes.

i have done me and jerry's taxes the last couple of years
here is some info....
You use Form 1040X (Amended Tax Return) and you have three years from original due date to file it.
I would strongly suggest you wait until you receive your refund or are otherwise convinced the IRS has received and processed your original return before you submit your 1040X. You should also consider filing an amended return for your particular state.
Also WHY are you needing to REfile?>

I am concerned about my 2003 taxes (while I filed in 2004) since my dad didn't claim me nor did I claim myself.
so no one claimed a lifetime learning credit on my expensive ass tuition!

Which means it was already processed by the IRS. Just fill out the amended return with the education credit and W-2's needed. If you want me to take a look at it just fax it to my office.
