ok i got these subs and a 800watt amp sittin here in my room for the time being until i find a buyer and/or a donor car. i know ive seen subs hooked up on sound systems at home and all i was just wondering if anyone would be able to give me tips on to how to do it and get a power source, wiring, etc etc. what im looking to do is hook them up to my speakers that i have running off my laptop (nothing special just external desktop speakers that plug into my lap top). any ideas? i was thinking of a three prong plug and splitting the wires and connecting it to the amp and pluging it in but im not sure. ahhh well post away

get a pc power supply. you'll still have to figure out how to wire the remote turn on lead, which im not sure about.

a pc power supply will not put out enough amps to power an 800 watt amp
you need an ac adapter that will put out 12-14 volts and enough amperage, as rated on the amp.
