Something that compares displacement, weight, hp, physical dimensions etc.? I realize that's a pretty tall order but I figured I'd ask.

Essentially I'm looking for something that has a relatively good displacement/HP to weight ratio for a fantasy(but achievable) project I'm researching. Obviously part availability/cost is also big factor in choice.

Thanks

This isnt too much of a help but one of the import magazines that I picked up in the airport a few years ago did a comparison between the popular import engines. I think it was either Super Street or Import Tuner. Its not much to go on but can help narrow down your Google search.

LS1 motor fits in just about anything.

Yeah it's tough trying sift through the web and find accurate info.

LS1 is on top of the list but trying see if there any other possible options.

SR20VET (not a turboed VE, or a VE'd DET, but a REAL 20v SR20VET)

best engine (for a 4cyl)

Aluminum SBC or LS motor will usually come out on top, even when you consider price.

If you are limited to a 4 cylinder, that depends more on preference, drivetrain config, and budget than many other factors.
