Looking for a word art type program

Im helping my car club by creating a few graphics for our new forum. Im looking for a program for word art so that i can create a text banner with some texture on the lettering maybe a drop shadow, things of the such without having to run through a thousand steps in photo shop. Any suggestions?

that cool text website is exactly what i am looking for. Are there any programs that do exactly that, will illustrator do that. I'm looking for something i can install on my comp so it will run faster but if not that cooltext.com should work
