I found what appears to be a decent miata for 1500. Guy had a
Video of it running and it sounds pretty good. Some rust, and wear but nothing
Major.
Only problem is the back window needs to be re sewn according to him. I know how expensive top can be and repair can be almost as costly. I'm wondering how much it would be to have it re done properly by a shop.
I'd really rather a turn key miata but if I can pick one up cheap with minimal issues im okay with it. This one has 125k and the only issue is the top according to the owner. He's asking 1500.

depending on how long that window has been out, the rust issue could be very big.

Pictured rust is on the door sill. He sent me about 10 more pictures.
If the top cab be sewn so that it Dosent leak bad while sitting I'll just pick up a hard top.

You cant just sew a top shut,no shop will do that. It won't hold and it'll look terrible. Including the fact it will still leak

So replacing is only option really. Or a hard top.
Think i'll save up and just buy a decent miata for around 2500-3k
I also made the mistake of sitting in a 2012 today at the mazda dealer while looking for cars for my Gf. Couldn't take it for a ride, the 6 speed's battery was dead and the two auto's were fresh on the lot, thus no gas.
Salesman assured me they would have it charged tomorrow when my GF takes her aveo in to be appraised.

Yeah at that point you get a hard top for 800 beans and never be able to put the top down,or you get a new top for 1k and have the ability to drop it.

im sure i'd be okay with it for a while, then it would be a pain in the ass.
like i said, prolly going to hold out for a good one in the 2-3k range.

Rydon is a shop in Philly. They gave me a new DOT approved rear plastic window on my car for $300 total. It took them 5 hours but there work is very good.

The manager is crazy though. He yells at everyone for no reason and would probably say something mean to you right when he meets you.

Plastic rear windows are so cheezy. I'd never rock anything but glass.
Tops are def not cheap to fix/replace. Whatever you do make sure to take care of it using something like RaggTopp Convertible Top Care Kit. Its the best $30-40 you will ever spend. I actually have a kit that was bought for my Mustang that was never used that I need to sell.

Rydon is good, they also outsource a lot of stuff to RSC.
