I purchased a 95 cherokee a week or so ago and fro 1st to 2nd gear it lags a lot. Its got no get up and go. I was experiencing a mis-fire, i replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and it still seems to run a little rough. I a not sure where to go from here with trying to fix the issue. After 2nd gear engages the sucker shoots off like a rocket, but up until 20-25 MPH it so slow and sluggish no matter how much pedal you give it... Can anyone tell me what the issue might be?

Truck is a 95 cherokee base model (no power anything or cruise control)
Straight 6
Automatic
217,000 miles

HELP ME!!! :confused::confused::confused:

Could be an issue with the trans or lockup converter but do you re-time the motor after the cap and rotor?

When you removed the cap and rotor you should use a timing light to adjust the timing and fine tune it.
