Some people think the new styling of the 2013 Mustang is a bit ugly. I think its just what Ford needed.

Part of the reason the Mustang sales were dropping is the Camaro is a bit more aggressively styled and its available in more unusual attention getting colors. Ford needed to make a more in your face drastic style change along with more colors to make it an attention getting car. The Mustang didn't say "LOOK AT ME I"M A COOL CAR!" like the Camaro did. Even though the V6 Mustang and the Mustang GT could beat the Camaro in almost every performance category for the corresponding model people were buying the heavier, slower, car with worse gas mileage because of its looks.

The 2011-2012 Mustang was that cute, confident, but quiet girl at the party while the Camaro was the girl with pink hair highlights and the side of her head shaved with tattoos on her chest dressed in skimpy and tight clothes that everyone looked at.

Compare the 2011 Model....

The front bumper is atrocious looking IMO. Looks like a terrible body kit you'd see on some mad JDM tye whip.

I prefer the 11/12, but the interior is what they really need to work on. Every time I go on cars.com to check local prices I see that interior and barf.

I could live with the Boss interior, but the other trim levels are terrible.

They should have just gone all out gt500 front end if they were going to do this. They tried to change the bumper top differentiate it and it didn't turn out well. And the wide license plate cutout on the back sucks

All of them are crap from a quality standpoint anyway. Interior is mediocre, paint is disappointingly crappy from the factory, still does not look the way it use to. Performance-wise there is no doubt that it is respectable.

I like the 10-12 body lines much better.

1. They aren't 'crap from a quality standpoint anyway'. They are extremely reliable cars.

2. I agree on the interior, thats the part I hate the most about them. I wouldn't say it is crap quiality, just not appealing to the eye.

3. Ford paint is actually one of the better ones out there.

4. Performance wise is probally the BEST car bang for the buck out there.

I also like 11'12 better but this isn't so bad! The ricer grille is killing me though... The white one doesn't look to shabby but the minty green one is horrid!

Not gonna lie but looking at the front end of this and the new SRT Charger, they look pretty similar. It's not totally similar but just a little

The only differences between the Boss 302 interior and GT interior are the seats and a small section of a different pattern of trim on the dash board. Your comment reminds me of one of those Volkswagen dashboard molesters.

I don't remember my dad's 00 mustang GT's paint ever fading.. the soft top is a different story :P

It was also extremely reliable like you say, never really seen one dead (can't say much about other fords).

Interior will always be boring because its an american car imo

the interior of the '10 mustang is the reason i didn't buy a 03 cobra or 05-09 gt, the quality and the fit and finish are so much nicer in the '10+

the updated styling of the 13 mustang is fantastic. it's a wonderful upgrade over the mutton chops i've got. we're basically looking at gt500 styling across the board, giving the mustang a nice aggressive look that everyone associated with the beast gt500.

I like it, just not totally sure on the bottom of the front bumper. I would have to see one in person.

I could live with the Boss interior because the rest of the car is awesome. And yes, the suede trimmed Recaros are very nice upgrade over the GT/P seats.

The GT/P is not so awesome that I could put aside my gripes with the interior.

The gauge cluster, steering wheel, hard touch plastics everywhere...overall it's just not aesthetically pleasing to my eye.

I think the retro fad is over and the interior needs to be updated accordingly. They put so much work into everything else, but the interior just doesn't do it for me.

Personally from the ones I've PDI'd so far, the interiors are pretty cheaply put together, I broke trim pieces etc just pulling on them to unclip them while installing remote start and dvd systems etc.
I must say the looks are not appealing to me at all, but the 5.0 has such an amazing sound to it, I like the sound of the exhaust in the trucks better, but the mustangs are orchestral enough to appease me lol.

understandable. i think the gauge cluster could have had something a little extra/nicer done. the hard plastic is all but gone on the 10+ though, at least for the majority of the large surfaces. it's a nice padded something or other lol. I am bummed that all the "brushed aluminum" trim is plastic wit noticeable "ends" to the paint, but that's what you get these days :/

i really disliked the 05-09 interior because of the plastic... and even with the retro look, it was a little too dated looking.

the retro fad will never be over for mustang fanboys though lol. we love our hayday ;)

The gauge cluster, steering wheel,

I can agree with that to a point. Some don't like the retro styling of the gauge cluster. Also, I think the GT500 steering wheel should have been a factory option on all Mustang GT's.

My Candy Apple Red Metallic 2008 GT had the Interior Upgrade Package and an extra cost two tone leather option package. It was a combination of options that was only available on the premium package GT's and the interior colors were a rare option. The dashboard was leather instead of plastic and it had aluminum trim over part of the dash. Part of the center console between the seats was covered with leather too. Also, the doors were two tone leather trimmed and the seats were leather. It looked and felt like a much nicer car than the ones with the standard interior.

The good news is the next Mustang will be non retro according to Ford and it will also be a little smaller and lighter than the current model. That's good news since the 2005 Mustang GT with no options was 3350 lbs and the current Mustang GT is above 3600 lbs.

Not a fan of that lower grill, but I like the fact it's a bit more aggressive. I actually would like to test drive one. Doubt I would buy it, but alot of people who I trust are saying it's one of the best cars you can buy for your buck. Also the interior might lack but look at the performance for the price. The car can compete in everything from drift, to drag, to auto-x, and is still a street car. That's what catchs my eye.

I honestly really like the current mustang design, it looks exactly like it should -- a futuristic version of the original fastback. it took me a bit (not long) to get back into it because I was so turned off by the previous incarnations of the 80s/90s that resembled nothing of the classic original.

As far as the changes for 2013, I like them, but they are pretty subtle. i don't think it really qualifies as a "new" or "redesigned" model. i'm sure there are some things about it that I don't like, but in general, whoever is designing the new Fords is really doing a good job aesthetically though.
