So im taking my buddy for a ride yesterday after the oxford valley elementry car show, and i start slammin through the gears...im pullin hard through every gear...and i think it was in 6th, at around 140 mph...still pullin tremendously hard...i hear this massive crash/crack! I imediately let off the gas and imediately and concerned all with in a split second...checked my egt, boost, CEL, c if my car had died out...nothing, everything was fine...but also with in that split sec i look in my rear view mirror to look for smoke, or anything out of the ordinary coming out the back...and sure enough, flying through the air, boomeranging/spinning at like 25 ft off the ground for like 15 freakin seconds...was this black looking giant thing. I right away knew it wasnt my exhaust or anything serious, cuz it all felt fine. Then it dawned on me...my freakin carbon fiber wind splitter that attaches to the bottem of my bumber...could not handle the downforce and that speed, and it ripped completely out of my bumber, out the bottom of my car, flew so high in the air and finally crash landed after like 15 sec's. It was horrible, but hilarious at the same time. Guess i should have thought that through.

Ouchie, that sucks. I don't remember seeing this on your car? It's in the rear?

o no, i throw it on for shows...because the clearance is way too low for practical everyday driving...so i usually drive with it off. It mounts to the bottom of the front bumper and just creeps out a little...its made of carbon fiber.

ts made of carbon fiber.

Or was? I imagine that must have been pretty wicked hitting the ground and stuff.

If it falls off at 140 mph it was rice anyway :D .

Seriously though, anytime carbon fiber is destroyed its a sad day. I'm sorry to hear it. Good story though.

heh, I totally know the feeling. I lost my undertray at about 150ish. It shattered like a bag of ice hitting the ground, then all I heard was the remnants of it scrapping under the car. Scarred the hell out of me.

You need to use an offsite photo hosting site like www.PhotoBucket.com
to host pictures.
They provide image tags, all you do is copy and paste the link under the picture.
