I have a 99' civic. I replaced the stock stereo with a sony headunit, two subs and a pioneer amp. The setup worked fine for months. I smashed the bezel up in the process of installing. I recently went to replace the bezel and when I put everything back into place the headunit has not powered on since.

Any help will be extremely appreciated. I'm going insane without music it's been a few months since the headunit has powered up. I combed through all the wires several times and had others do the same. Everything is hooked up in place.

I thought maybe a wire shorted a fuse or something but all of the fuses are good. I tried plugging in a kenwood spare and same thing, nothing powers on. I even tried jumping the unit just to power on from the fuse box and it didn't work. I'm not sure what the problem is. I've checked all wires and fuses. Does anyone know how I can solve this? Or information on where I can get a quote or find a vendor would be amazing.

Thanks

You likely lost a connection with your power, ground, or remote wire. When you guys checked the wiring, did you use a volt meter to actually make sure they were good?

my guess would be to take the bezel back off and check any wires around that. if everything is connected my guess is that when you put the bezel in, if there were any wires near it that the clips could have pinched a wire and possibly ripped the coating off the wire causing it to ground out.

Do what they both said above ^^ lol.

Check wires with a voltmeter to make sure voltage is being supplied, and look for cut/stripped wires around the back of the bezel, anywhere it can crush a wire between it and something else, like a vent or support bracket.

and don't forget to check the ground!

Probably blew a fuse. There's two, one under the dash and one under the hood, both should be 7.5. If you find one that's blown and upon replacing it it immediately blows again then you have a short that you need to find.
