Picked this bad boy up the other night. Got some good plans for it but ill just update as i go along...its getting the typical drop/stretch/swap/etc.

All you gotta do is buy one, and register it just like you would any other motorcycle. You get insurance which is about 60-75 for the year, and you just need your regular drivers license. And as far as how it carries me, I'm 5'10" 175 and it'll cruise at 37-38 with me on it on flat ground. Im pretty comfortable on it, idk how big you are but i can imagine it getting really cramped if you're like 6'2" and over 220 but there are plenty of big guys that ride them....thats what lowered seat frames and handle bars are for :D

i haven't had a problem really...same as my street bike was you just gotta get in the right spot lol

Ordered my gy6 engine mount and shock mount :) also got some pw:jdm foot pegs and a MOJO customs foot peg mount, and an ncy gas tank cover so i can take off my stock floor board :D She's getting there

Picked up an atr frame extension off my buddy for cheap to hold me off until i finish the gy6 swap. Should be installing all my parts this weekend and will hopefully have some pics to show it all off :)

I also have front password jdm pegs i didn't get around to installing, and ordered an ncy front end kit and throttle tube which includes new shocks, wheel, 220mm rotor and caliper, master cylinder, blah blah blah should help stop this beast a little better. Next on the list to order is the gy6 motor :D

sorry to disappoint but I'm just doing a stock 13" gy6 trispoke wheel in the rear and an ncy wheel up front. It is somewhat of a budget build haha so there won't be any extreme **** going on but it will be super clean and functional, thats all i want out of it. I mean, it turns head as it sits now lol

yea i would have liked to find one for under a grand with a blown motor or something but its hard enough coming across a good used one :/ i got my 2011 for $1500 which is pretty damn good so i couldn't pass it up.

haha i bought it used with 2700 miles on it...pretty good shape though, and i knew i was tearing it apart anyway. I just wanted a 2011 so the resale value will be a little higher

Finally decided to take some decent pictures of the Ruck today. I added the NCY front end kit and cleaned up the handlebars and wiring a little bit. Gy6 motor comes in wednesday then next weekend it'll probably get torn down for the swap :D

SOOO did some work recently. By work i mostly mean ordered parts and payed to have my motor mount welded on, but i did mock up the motor and wheel today to see how it was going to sit. Pretty happy :P The rear is basically set in this pic how it will be without me sitting on it. The front SHOULD be able to be brought down at least an inch but we'll see.

Not too much of an update worthy of pictures, but why not? I got my ncy rear shock mounted, my exhaust is on, and i swapped out my axle to a short axle, the 8 pole dc stator that came with my motor to an 11 pole ac stator, and pulled the stock harness off. Oh and mounted my carb and intake. I guess i did get a decent amount done. Wiring will be done tomorrow and wednesday, then ill just be tying up loose ends and hopefully be riding by next weekend. HAPPY EASTER!

no pictures but i started on the wiring last night. The harness i bought made it super simple so far but i ran out of time so i only got about 75% of the way done. Lots of soldering and shrink wrap :D Will be even more if i decide to do a wire tuck when i get it painted in a few weeks ;)

Messed with it a little bit today between work and school. Wiring is done but i can't get it to start :/ I think the flywheel timing is out so I'm gonna check that and hopefully she's fire up.

SHE RUNS!!!!! got a few little bugs to work out but the motor runs so thats a good start. Having a little trouble with getting all the lighting to work but ill work on that tomorrow, as well as reassembling the bike and cleaning up the loose ends on the wiring. So hype :)

Ok after rewiring a few things i got her 100%, mechanically she's done as far as the swap goes :) Still needs to get painted and possibly do a fatty but we'll see how things go. Heres the finished product (for now)

Well the time has come to paint the frame....which led to the decision of picking what i wanted to stick with for the rear wheel (since a wider rear wheel requires offsetting the motor, which in my case requires modifying the motor mount which is welded to the frame). I said i was keeping it a budget build and was gonna keep the stock 13x3.5 wheel...but **** that. Ordered up a 12x8 douglas polished aluminum wheel, a 140/70/12 avon tire, and also a smaller 100/90/10 tire for the front because this big bulky 120 looks like doo-doo. Hopefully within the next 2 weeks ill have the the mount modified for the wheel, a new shock mount welded to the frame instead of the bolt on one I'm using now, and the frame somewhat shaved and painted. Also i neglected to mention my wiring problems i was having. Lights weren't working, bike wasn't charging, etc. Turned out the flywheel rubbed through some of the stator wires and caused a little ruckus back there (pun intended). SOO i blew the bulb and ballast on my brand new 175 dollar headlight (fml sending it back to trail tech to see if they'll warranty it), but other than that i fixed the wiring and its now running and lighting up as it should (minus the busted light of course).

The front forks i just got are sooo stiff, they make rear shocks that people say you can ride tandem on and not bottom out, and they also make frame blocks that go between the front and rear frame that give you more leg room :D now you have no excuses haha

No, the piece of wood strapped to the bike in the rolling shots is haha i had to use the jackstand because i left the wood in my driveway by accident that day :(

Motor died on me today while i was out riding. Going to have to fix that i guess. In the mean time i test fit the wheel and am dropping it off probably tomorrow to have the motor mount and shock mounted modded for the wider wheel. Then wire tuck/fix motor :)

Mine does like 55ish pretty easily, i haven't completely topped it out yet. And i can't calculate it exactly but somewhere around 60mpg

Small update but my dr. pulley slider weights, and new cdi came in today. Im hoping i get to 60mph with these but we shall see.

Also the hub adapter came in that i need to run the front wheel/hub i ordered (will be here end of next week). Very quality piece :D

AND finally, ordered everything i need to add rear brakes. Just drums, but I've been riding with only front brakes for a little bit now. Its not that i really feel only fronts were unsafe, but i think i can def prolong the life of the front rotor/pads with the rear drums helping out :D

Got it back last night from getting the wheel centered and having the shock mount welded on the frame. Came out pretty sweet :P Decided to spray it black today to hold me over until i have enough money to get it professionally painted (unemployment sucks), came out better than i thought.

So i haven't kept this updated at all but basically I FINALLY got it all wired back up and running the other night. I ran into a few problems, changed out the cdi and coil, replaced the stator that got shredded by a broken bolt that also wrecked the right side crank case cover that i needed to replace anyway, and replaced the throttle cable that decided to break on me while i was out riding. Today was the first day i got to ride it all back together and didn't have a single problem...hoping it stays this way :D
