Yea I didn't have time to get a sound clip. The president of Maserati Rolled through today so it was chaos. But it sounds angry yet restrained like the Aventador is.

So this car wasn't built? It was wished into existence? Divine intervention?

The Aston Martin One-77 is based on a lightweight carbon fiber chassis covered by a handcrafted aluminium body. Powering the One-77 is a hand-built 7.3 litre V12 engine which develops over 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. Thanks to the adoption of a dry-sump oil system the engine is mounted 100mm lower than in any previous V12-engined Aston Martin road car. Sending the power to the rear wheels is a 6-speed mid/rear mounted semi-auto transmission with Auto Shift Manual (ASM) and Select Shift Manual (SSM).
Someone built it.......just not the guy who bought it.

I'm inclined to agree with janky on this one. Although, if your though process is from one extreme to the other, then you are too dumb to reason with.
I'd rather wrench/drive on my buddies 57 chevy, frame off resto, worked SBC chevy car, than any of the exotic stuff.
Put me on my bobbed out sporty, rather than some stuff a buck chopper, unlike a "bought" bike I know my bike scoots great, stops fast, and handles good.
Unlike some on the site it ain't a fad for me. I've been wrenching for 10 years on my own stuff, as soon as I was able to afford parts, tools, and space.
Riding my own build bike is more satisfying than riding my off the shelf sportbike, albeit not as exciting.
To each their own.
BTW, a better analogy is more "the space shuttle is lame, I build orbital boosters in my backyard"

at the same rate it doesn't mean that I have to respect it either. fact is that most people enthusiast as well, look more at the price tag vs what the car can actually do. I would love to see how this thing hods up to something like a purpose built miata on the track. :cyberguy:

I apologize. My original purpose was to illustrate the point that hating on something just because you didn't build it is pretty stupid. I considered drawing an MS paint picture for people such as yourself but gave TST the benefit of the doubt. My bad.
Just for the record, I'd prefer to work on my own cars as well but that doesn't mean I dislike exotics on principal. Who doesn't love to see a built project car whoop up on an exotic? That doesn't mean we can't appreciate the amount of engineering that goes into a high end sports car. When you take a stance like that you just look bitter that you can't afford them. To each their own though.

Haha thanks! I just think that just because you have an appreciation for something doesn't mean you prefer that over anything else. Either way...awesome car and I'll take 2!

exotics generally have smaller pistons, which leads me to believe that money is being used to over compensate for something else.
also can't tell from your post but, i feel you might need to fill this out. :-p
