My significant other purchased a 2006 Honda Civic that has a few problems that I am working out. One of those problems is that the spark plugs were never changed since the purchase of the car and it has almost 100k miles. Every now and then, the plugs would hiccup and foul out.

What is weird, NGK Iridium plugs are impossible to get, calling Autozone/ Pep Boys/ Advanced Auto, and non where in stock anywhere with no possibility to backorder them. From what I believe, this is all due to the earthquake in Japan. Anyways, I went with the next best thing (I thought) and went with Bosch. Broke out my Snap-On electronic torque wrench, torqued them to specs with antiseize and all.

I drive the car and it feels amazing; no knocking and no puttering. Then, after a few miles, it goes into limp mode, the check engine light goes on and the engine is not going above 2500RPMs. WTF! I scan the codes and I get cylinders 1 and 4 misfiring! I check the box to make sure I have the correct plugs and they are the right ones. Since I am German, I am ashamed to say, Bosch plugs are crap.

My question now is, anyone have a source to get the OEM plugs? I guess my best bet is to try the 'Stealer'ship?

I use the NGK Iridiums in my car. I recall getting my last set from Goodvibes Auto Sport because they had them in stock when I was looking for them. JSC Speed and R/T Tuning may also stock them.

I got them from the dealer and thinking of using the Bosch spark plugs as a sex toy.

I believe Honda uses NGK or Denso (depending on where the car was manufactured) I've used em on my AV6 and they work great.

Talking with the dealer, they have part numbers for NGK and Denso. So that makes sense. This weekend I am doing a full tranny flush with NEO ATF, oil change and resealing the oil pan with Hylomar and replacing the bolts with studs. Big weekend ahead of me...
